Once again I'd like to point out that Chopper 2 has had this for months.

Server's already crashed : )
Chopper 2 is even better using this same setup. I push the video to my projector with the iPad VGA connector. Looks great even at 8 feet wide.
@budfog: Holy Shit! Do you actually think your apps add to the weight?
@september11th: Or you could just get them all. There are only four bundles @ .99 ea.
MyWi 4.0 is out for IOS 4

@Robotronic: Shift is better most every way, but I had more fun playing undercover. At .99 get both!
@Jimmy Kirk: When people talk about the "second method" that's the help.benm.at method. Easy and worked for me on at&t. No side effects whatsoever unless at&t can track it.
@bigMoneyMIKE: Suck on this and tell me I'm lying:

@xint: Point taken. I actually subscribed a while ago, but never posted anything. In the mean time I forgot my username so had to re-up. I READ Gizmodo every day, just never have had anything to say until now.

Cheers.

@bigMoneyMike: I'm not in the habit of taking photos/video of my gear, but since you asked so nice I'll drive to work on a Sunday (60 mi round trip) just to ease your quaking little mind that this is in fact the real deal, and that you might have to retract some of the bile you've been spewing all over this forum.

I'm also curious as to what part of my post you think is a blatant lie?

As far as being a plant, I have a feeling that I was one of the first people to jump in and order one these "bad boys". As I said in my earlier post I ordered a good three or four days before Giz got wind of these guys and started telling everyone they were scamming. Therefore I probably got one of the first ones they shipped. Hell for all I know I'm the only person who didn't call and cancel their order after all the shit that Giz and others started throwing at them.

Let me be very clear here, I am not a plant. I'm just a guy who ordered a computer on the internet and I got what I ordered.

My only complaint would be that I didn't receive the machine until 2 weeks after I ordered it. In this case it was no big deal, but generally I would expect better service.

For full disclosure: during the last call I got from Psystar (it was Rudy) he asked if I'd be willing to talk to a reporter from forbes.com, which I agreed to (and have done). Rudy didn't ask me to do anything other than tell the guy what I thought about the machine (he did ask me 2 or 3 times if I was happy with the machine).

If satisfied customer=plant then so be it.

@CGrant: I don't by macs for the automatic updating. I buy them because they run OSX. If I can buy alternative hardware to do that and save a grand, that's very appealing. Granted that's not for everyone, and I doubt that I will replace all my production macs with clones at this point. The way I look at it if I have to run 10.5.2 for the life of this machine and never update it, I can still easily get my moneys worth out of it.

I posted this yesterday in one of the older Psystar threads, but no one noticed. So far I haven't seen any other comments by people who've ordered and received a computer from Psystar so I'll stick my neck out once again.

Just so you know I ordered on April 10th, several days before the news broke about these guys supposedly being shady scamsters.

=====================

Well...

I got mine today and it's awesome. Leopard preinstalled and included (still in shrink wrap) Core2Duo 2.66 w/4gigs of ram and a Geforce 8600GT w/256 mb ram. Everything as advertised. Clocked a very respectable 3585 on Geekbench.

Plus I got 3 calls from Psystar:

1. to let me know it had shipped.

2. to let me know UPS got it here a day early and it was on the truck for delivery.

3. to follow up and make sure I got everything and was happy with the machine.

Time will tell, but I think Giz may owe these guys an apology.

Cheers

======================

To follow up, I used this machine all day today at work without a hiccup. So far everything is working perfectly (something I can't say about my G5 it's replacing) Photoshop, Firefox, VMware Fusion (I know...ironic) as well as the OS itself all performed as expected.

These guys may have made some mistakes, and are obviously treading on very thin ice regarding Apple's EULA, but they ARE shipping plain vanilla PC's that run OS 10.5.2 like a champ.

Say what you will, but the black boxes they are using are not ugly (and who really gives a rats ass if it works)

btw, I still have 2 Motorola Starmax clones that were great bargains back in the day before Steve shut that down too.
