<![CDATA[apeguero commented on Korean Scientists Closer To Fusion?]]> @jkr2: Thanks. In other words, we won't be seeing hyper-drives, etc, anytime soon, if ever. Unless, of course, someone from M31 or M101 visits us with the technology.

<![CDATA[apeguero commented on Korean Scientists Closer To Fusion?]]> @Somadis: Unlimited Power could power an engine to allow us to travel the universe. Although I wouldn't like to go on that trip. It will be useless to us unless we can somehow figure out how to travel, if not faster than, at least at the speed of light, or find or make our own worm holes. Otherwise, think man. The fastest man-made object is the twin Helios Probes which reached 150,000mph at closest approach to the sun. That isn't even close to the speed of light (670,616,629.4 miles per hour), which, if we ever figure out how to reach that speed, would take us over 4 years to reach Proxima Centauri (V645). The closest galaxy, The Canis Major Dwarf, discovered in 2003, is 25,000 light years away so it would take us about that long to reach it at that speed. We could travel to the sun at that speed in a little over 8 minutes which is cool. So we could use it to cruise around our little corner of the Milky Way but that's about it I would think.

Unlimited energy will do us jack unless we can build an engine that can beat the speed of light, which according to current physics laws, is impossible. Hell, it's impossible to even reach the speed of light according to Einstein.

<![CDATA[apeguero commented on Why We Still Need the iPhone App Black Market]]> Hey everyone. Believe or not, it's been 13 days since the iPhone has launched and today was the first time I saw one for reals. I've been avoiding the Apple Store so I wouldn't have to deal with the crowds. Well, it actually looks and feels pretty nice. Both the black and the white are nice enough to own, when they come out with 32Gb models that is. Until then, I think I'll hang on to my 16Gb older model.

]]>
<![CDATA[apeguero commented on Why We Still Need the iPhone App Black Market]]> 'tis the reason why I'm holding off buying the new iPhone 3G. I love my iPhone 1.0 too much. I'm even holding off pwning it since I like my 1.1.4 compatible 3rd party apps way too much. Heck, there isn't even a Summerboard or Summerboard like app via Cydia yet for 2.0.

I pwned my wife's 8gb iPhone v1.0 using v2.0.1 to test it out. It worked okay and now I have Cydia instead of Installer.app. There aren't that many GUI programs there and only a few modmyiphone stuff that could be installed, like the AT&T globe/signal bar do-hicky and different slider bar and battery graphic replacements. But, no Summerboard yet, no games yet (except for the Nintendo emulator).

I'll hold off pwning my 16gb iPhone v1.0 until either Cydia list Summerboard or something like it, and at least a couple of half-way decent games. Patience my friends. And thank God for the dev team and the developers out there that haven't joined the dark side yet. Send these guys a couple of bucks if you like their 3rd party apps. Give them a reason to remain with us rebels or we'll lose them to the dark side (AT&T/Apple). (Godamn I love Star Wars!).

<![CDATA[apeguero commented on Precious Metal Cover Makes Jewelry of Apple Bluetooth Headset]]> I was hoping Apple would introduce a new version of this headset with iPhone 3G. Too bad. I was going to buy it at my local Apple store when a rep there told me it wasn't really that good. He went as far as recommending I sped the $130.00 on something better like a Jawbone. I took his word but got the Jabra BT8040. I couldn't be happier with it.

<![CDATA[apeguero commented on Apple and AT&T Stores Having Difficulty Activating iPhones (UPDATE: It's the iPocalypse)]]> @92BuickLeSabre: Totally agree dude! I thought of the same thing. They should've released 2.0 to current iPhones like last month. This way they could've worked out any bugs out of the system *and* upgraded the millions of iPhones out there. But no, they tried to be cute and push it out at the same time they started selling, who knows how may tens, hundreds of thousands of iPhones on 7/11 all over the world, forcing everybody through a funnel while activating their iPhones at home and at the Apple stores and other locations worldwide. Who the hell came up with this ingenious plan?

<![CDATA[apeguero commented on Somehow, Original iPhones Going For Up To $600, Sell Now!]]> As I've said all along ever since this 3G iPhone was introduced with only 3G and GPS as the new updates, I'm hanging on to my aluminum backed, longer battery lasting, $20 data plan (with text), unlockable and jailbreakable, proven Original 16Gb iPhone. It's in excellent shape with Apple Care and shrink wrapped accessories just in case I need to dump it on eBay some day. By then it will be running the new v2.0 FW, jailbreaked and unlocked.

]]>
<![CDATA[apeguero commented on Use Photoshop to Give Iran Even More Fake Technological Advancements]]> Someone should photoshop this jerk getting his ass reamed with an ICBM! This duschebag keeps raising the price at the pump with every stupid missile test he does.

I too have met many Middle Easterners and Muslims which are nothing like the terrorists out there. The ones I've met are very polite and accommodating so I definitely hope a peaceful solution could be found to all this saber-rattling. I only met one Kuwaiti once that used to get a little loony whenever the word Jewish or Israel was mentioned. But then again, it was probably because his own wife was Jewish - go figure :)

]]>
<![CDATA[apeguero commented on Question of the Day: Are You More Excited About iPhone Apps or 3G?]]> None. I'm a cheap bastard so I prefer installer.app on my jailbreak'd iPhone v1. I also don't get 3G where I live. I used to get 3G where I used to work but that doesn't apply anymore since I work from home. It's silver-backed, 16Gb, ShielZone protected, jailbreak'd iPhone v1.0 for me. Only upgrade I'll be making will be to FW v2.0 once it's been fully jailbreak'd and proven to work with the installer.app programs. At least until Apple get's off their fat-asses and starts selling a 32Gb iPhone with better Bluetooth features.

<![CDATA[apeguero commented on Absurd iPhone App of the Moment: The Wheel]]> You gotta be f'ing kidding me. These tools are all over the web. I should know. My wife and I are expecting our 4th child (2nd boy) this month. For the ladies here and those that were thinking of gifting this, don't waste your money! Besides, how many times will you really need to use this? Unless of-course, you're an OBGYN or a nurse, and those even have the real wheel provided to them. What a waste of money. They should've provided this as a free app.

]]>
<![CDATA[apeguero commented on Official iPhone 3G Sales Procedure Mimes Child Birthing Proceedure]]> Why can't they invent something whereby there is a barcode on the box that when scanned, the activation program on the computer simply activates the SIM card number that's in the phone and updates one's AT&T account (to also include marrying that SIM to your current AT&T number or to the new phone number created). This could be done without ever taking the darned phone out of the box. If there's a problem when one brings new phone home and it doesn't work then all one has to do is return to the store for an exchange. By that time though the SIM in the phone would be setup with one's AT&T 2 year contract. This is assuming that AT&T and Apple coordinated the manufacturing process to link up the iPhone's ESN to the SIM card. Of course, this would leave out the question of how will they program the MID and SID numbers during activation. Only thing I could think of is that Apple's manufacturing and packaging process ensures that each iPhone has a full charge and is on standby until it is scanned where by the activation scanner can pick up a signal form the boxed iPhone and take care of the MIN and SID numbers. Or, Apple could include a temporary battery to take care of just that process inside of the iPhone.

Just a thought. But I think this would do away with the uncomfortable feeling one gets when a lowly store clerk (AT&T or Apple) man handles one's precious iPhone. I know I never allowed Apple Geniuses take out the SIM in my iPhone whenever it was being looked at. I always did it myself so that if the thing was scratched then it was scratched by me.

<![CDATA[apeguero commented on US Airways Removing All In-Flight Movies, Didn't Want Your Stupid Business Anyways]]> @Sons of Norway: Amen to that! It's my biggest gripe with them and is exactly what I've been asking. Instead of nickle and diming us to death about this shit and trying to give us the sob story about how they are hemorrhaging, just raise the damned fair commensurate to the current price of fuel already!!! I don't care about removing this stuff because I have an unlocked PSP with a 16gb mem stick where I tend to dump just about any movie and game I want. But I feel for the non-tech savvy out there that don't have a way to get by and hate reading. Pretty soon they'll charge us for...wait, I won't give them any ideas. All I want to see is their Executive board taking a pay cut or being held off from receiving their outlandish bonuses this year.

The last straw for me was when they decided to charge us F/F a fee whenever we use our F/F miles. That's absurd!

<![CDATA[apeguero commented on Official: iPhone On Sale at 8AM on Friday in Apple Stores, Too]]> I'm buying three myself: one for me, one for my wife, and one for "him" (you know, Capt'n Chaos)

<![CDATA[apeguero commented on Build Your Own F-35 Lightning II Fighter Jet]]> @scuba_steve, @Hazdaz: Whatever. The way I see it, freedom of information should be a picture of the assembled aircraft, after it's been unveiled to the public as well as the price it's costing us tax payers, it's function and justification and it should stop there. I wouldn't share shit with anyone that might use it against me and this borders on that. Any dipshit know-it-all can look at this and notice that there are no intricate details of the whole assembly but still is too much information that surpises me would ever make it out to the public.
