so, uh, some of these are misleading actually. Antibiotics that are eliminated by the p450 system in the liver WILL have lower levels than your MD intended if you are a heavy drinker (this turns up the p450 processing plant which in turn processes the Abx faster therefore lower levels). And brain tumors CAN present at first with a progressive headache, so that's bullshit. And diet CAN have a 'significant' impact on some patients' cholesterol and triglyceride levels, so that's bullshit too. A woman who is well trained in how to perform self breast exam CAN (and HAS) find an unusual lump MUCH FASTER than women who wait every 1-2 years to see their primary MD (who may not even do the exam) so THAT'S bullshit, although I do understand the underlying sentiment - they DO have to be trained HOW to perform the exam, and it STILL can miss important lumps, hence the need for mammograms!

Finally, people with poorly controlled hypertension have 'significantly' higher frequency of headaches, this is in the literature, so this is bullshit, and yes, one of the possible signs of anemia is chronic (perhaps progressive even) fatigue, so that too is bullshit.

My gosh, what a totally useless list of bullshit. I do hope Consumerist withdraws this crap from their site, or at least encourages people to talk with their MDs about this if it is relevant/interesting to them.

I can't believe how many people here have a problem with a cashier demanding to check your picture id to verify that you are using YOUR visa, and you're NOT a criminal using someone ELSE'S visa!! Furthermore, I can't believe that Visa actually has a policy that states that cashiers DON'T have the right to demand picture id. Absurd. If ALL cashiers demanded picture id there would BE a stern dropoff in illegal visa purchases. Absurd. IMFO.

you bunch of sally hosers. Batman (the one made with Michael Keaton) was a cover to cover film, satisfying from the first scene through to the last scene, with perfect flow, build up, and climax/finish/afterglow. Ironman was in-fucking-credible up to the scene where he targets the terrorists' heads and shoots them all and saves the hostage villagers, and from there it kind of limps along to a very unsatisfying finish. We DON'T get to see him rip Baldy's head off, we DON'T get to see him pound Jeff Bridges head into a bloody pulp (his character deserved nothing less), and I'm sorry, but the first half buildup and climax (with shooting the terrorists) was great writing but after that it just got long without the luvin'.

Gadget wise, it's f$#@ing golden. Writing wise it's just not all that. JMFOB.

I'm currently building a X38 e8400 4gb 12000 DDR2 with 2x750gb plus velociraptor for OS, XP pro/Vista 64 dual boot system which will set me back all together around 1700. That's with the Coolermaster Cosmos, which is one bad ass case.

F$#@ Dell up the butt, they're for people who don't know how to build their own stuff or are too busy to do so, or both. If you're too busy to build, chances are you really don't need such cutting edge. If you have time to game, you have time to build.

Me, I'm busy as hell but computers are important to me so I prioritize them into my life. Much like my wife. but not so much like my wife in that I can choose to ignore my PC if I want to, and I can turn it on EASILY by flipping a switch. *sigh*

Men of the future will have robot wives, I'm SURE of it. With optional nagging circuitry on/off switch.

I think this is an AWESOME idea, and I'm glad I've already decided to buy a PS3 40gb this weekend to try out GTA IV rather than the x360. In the end I'll have one in my bedroom with my 40 inch Sony Bravia and one in the TV den with my (soon to arrive YEAH BABY) Samsung 61A750 LED DLP.

@officeboy: so, maybe around 100$/year or so, but your system will last 5x as long if you leave it on continuously (it's the heat/cold cycles that kill it I've heard) so methinks one saves money (and the environment as it takes a lot of energy to manufacture new PCs) by leaving 'em on 24/7. Seriously, why would anyone ever want to turn their system off anyways?

I had had the idea to start a chain restaurant which listed the entire nutritional contents (with calories, carbs, fats, protein, salt, etc) for each item on the menu. I still think with a great menu and lots of variety including both vege and non vege offerings it would be a big hit in SoCal. But given that 90% of new restaurants are belly up by the end of the first year, I decided instead to become a doctor. Now I'm sad.

This is a no brainer. As I've posted before, health insurance companies take 40-45% of every dollar WE give them and pocket it as pure profit. Consumers have GOT to wise up to what's going on and demand their representatives do something about it NOW. Health insurance is something that should not be allowed to operate in a 'free market' fashion - health care is something that should be inviolate, highly ethically bound. MDs are supposed to abide by high high ethical standards, so should health insurance, pharmaceuticals, biotech, and hospitals. This is a very fixable problem - one that the f$#@ing politician piece of feces are great at pointing OUT to us, but are useless in coming up with a viable solution. (like so many other failed governmental policies such as the 'war on drugs', the penal system, the social welfare system, etc.)

1. I've had my RAZR for 2.5 years now; have replaced the battery (for 6.99$ with shipping from ebay) just 2 months ago; runs like it did 2.5 years ago. It's a reliable f4#@ing cellphone. I don't ask for more.
2. My wife has been gaga about the iPhone since the first little tidbits were coming out. We waited and waited, then waited some more, until we both played with one and said "this is slow as molasses in Alaska" then we decided to wait for the 3G.
3. Personally, I'd keep my damn RAZR until it ultimately dies the sad yet inevitable death that all complex things eventually do, except for that my wife has told me she won't get the iPHone unless I get the iPhone; and I know she really really wants the iphone, which pretty much means I want the iPhone too, even though I bet it'll be more green than I really want to spend on a fucking phone. I mean really, how many damn ipods do we have to buy before Stevie comes over and cleans my damn house for me?
