<![CDATA[Comments from daniel]]> <![CDATA[Comments from daniel]]> <![CDATA[daniel commented on Why I Still Use Windows Despite the Peer Pressure]]> I use both. And I go deep into OS X. And it is a bit like Windows (configuration options), but guess what. It doesn't take a beating like Windows. My OS X machine was just formatted yesterday because of horrid boot up times and shutdowns that would take 3 minutes. The illicit colored spinning wheel of death when I'm doing nothing CPU demanding is just mind-boggling.

I've had stupid stuff happen in OS X through out the years I've been on a Mac (2000). Lets face it, Safari sucks way more than IE. The RSS feed listing in it is cool, but that's about it.
Failed Bootups on OS X are almost impossible to solve without a working computer to help you see the answers (that a simple configurable BIOS could fix) online.
C to boot CD.
Hold down the power button to clear PRAM or something like that.
Option to select what to boot from.
The list is ENDLESS!

In the end.
Macintosh crashes. (when it shouldn't because it's on proprietary hardware)
Windows crashes. (because of driver problems, but I've never had any)

But Windows takes a beating way more than OS X. My XP machine barely has to be restarted, and has never gotten a virus, and runs Apache, PHP, MySQL flawlessly.

Installing PHP and MySQL on a machine that has Apache pre-installed (OS X) is a mother fucking bitch.

I use both OS's to their fullest and Windows will always be on top. If you've never used the "Show Package Contents" in OS X and edited a library or done anything in terminal (other than change your wireless mac address) then you shouldn't be commenting because you don't use OS X to it's fullest.

Install Windows, setup a guest account that locks any kind of configuration options to the user just like OS X does and you will have the same "stable" OS.

<![CDATA[daniel commented on Review: HP Touchsmart IQ506 PC is NOT Just an Imitation iMac]]> I think it does what it's supposed to do. It's not meant for your typical computer user as others mentioned.

I can see my business buying these to put in the waiting room so clients can see what the latest projects are and view examples of completed works as well...this would be really cool.

<![CDATA[daniel commented on Dear Iran: Barbie Ain't So Bad, But Robot Vacs Are Evil]]> @FY9:
I don't need to Google it. I know what a "mutawa" is.
I visited Saudi, was out in plain sight during prayer time. Never gotten questioned, or harassed. Went to stores, went to restaurants. Nothing whatso ever.

As for the dictatorship regimes.
Egypt / Jordan / Lebanon / Indonesia
Here's the updated list without Dictatorship.

<![CDATA[daniel commented on Dear Iran: Barbie Ain't So Bad, But Robot Vacs Are Evil]]> Yeah, Iran has been behind and close minded.

"Stop picking on Muslims for weird crap in religion."

And I don't believe they're/we're picking on Muslims. Because not ALL Muslim countries follow these "rules"

Saudi / Egypt / Syria / Jordan / Lebanon / Indonesia

Iran is the only one that is moving backwards. A TIE?! Come on...

<![CDATA[daniel commented on Dear Iran: Barbie Ain't So Bad, But Robot Vacs Are Evil]]> I believe Iraq was the most progressive Islamic country in the course of history, way before Iran.

The tie thing has been around for a while and they pretty much carry that rule to every country they go. Imagine wearing a suit without a tie. It just feels wrong.

<![CDATA[daniel commented on Exclusive Video: Psystar in the Wild]]> I'm impressed. They held up to their part. I just wish someone would figure out how to get the update to work.

The tower looks fine, just like my Lian-Li (and btw, I own 4 Macs).

Those of you who think it's ugly are really sad. Stick to how pretty your computer is and keep cleaning it up not doing anything real with it.

Guess what, my Mac's crash, more horribly than XP. Spinning color wheel of death is more like it. And their cheap bargain bin parts are hilarious. It's like purchasing a Kia for the price of a Benz.

And about how it looks when you boot it up. Personally I LOVE that. I have my Macs setup to bootup in VERBOSE mode all the time. It actually makes sense to see what your computer is doing...instead of just having it look "pretty" and taking it to Starbucks to look cool.
