"I'm getting really tired of Apple-as-gatekeeper for iPhone apps.
Apple worked hard to break down the walled garden of mobile phone companies, just to replace it with their own.
Now they fall down at every copyright request, are dumping apps with mature content, taking too long with app approval, being generally uncommunitive with developers about the process, and preventing developers to even speak to each other about programming the iPhone SDK under penalty of lawsuit.
If my product has a copyright issue with another company, that matter involves two parties - my company and theirs."
"I would love to have such a critical standard in the US.
I have a 3g iphone and a mac mini and ipods, and love em, but I think a lot of Apple's advertising is overreaching, hyperbolic, and dishonest.
Like the Mac vs PC ads which infer the PC is only good for spreadsheets and doesnt play entertainment software, or that they dont work with digital cameras -?!"
"Ironically, the first time I ever encountered a bidet is when I checked into a Parisian hotel room with explosive diarrhea.
It would have been a fantastic coincidence if I had known what it was and how to use it."
"afaic Microsoft should have sued Apple over a couple of those commercials.
Two specifically I can think of are the one which inferred Windows didn't work with digital cameras ((!??!) and the ones which inferred that Windows didn't run entertainment software, just business software (!!??)
Whats really funny about those is that at the time, MacBooks didnt even have an SD card slot for digital cameras like most PC notebooks, and everyone knows Windows supports about 10X as much gaming software as MacOS."
"Since I got 25Mbps FiOs, I have to use FTP clients which split the download into several pieces on multiple connections in order to saturate my connection (long fat pipe problem).
'Internet Download Accelerator' plugs into Firefox and does this automatically for HTTP or FTP downloads."
"multitouch on the pc has to be the most overhyped nonsense since push internet.
I dont even use multitouch that much on my iphone, and its more useful there."
