that would be fun for about 2 seconds
perhaps brain cancer isn't something to take seriously?
and i write in lowercase, wow.
i wonder if iphone 4s is as high a radiation phone as its predecessor (iphone 4: 1.17 SAR head, .43 SAR body)?

i let go of iphone after many years, it was tough, but a great choice for me: iphones bills are conceivably expensive, they were for me, and holding it up to my head felt suicidal because of its higher radiation (even though i had a headset, i would get lazy and then feel the heat in my brain).

solution for me: i have bought my phone outright: a low radiation samsung captivate (in my opinion, definitely not as good as iphone, its andriod 2.2 froyo), i'm on the att gophone plan ($2 a day if i make calls, which is unlimited, otherwise i pay nothing, including when my phone rings, if i don't pick it up i get charged nothing for the day.) i use google voice for my number, so it directs calls to vonage number (my second line, my "home" number) and cell at same time and when i make calls, because i'm on android with the google voice app, it masks the number to say i'm calling from my google voice number. because i work from home, i can go for a week not making calls on my cellphone and when i do i try to do speakerphone or headset. i bought a mifi for data on the road--$20 for 30 day 500 mb cap (not a perfect science, takes some technical skills and patience but its all i need, i'm not a big data junkie on my phone.) the end result is, i don't feel like i have to use my cellphone, but its there when i need it and its way more affordable--my costs are down to what i was paying in the late nineties. there is a learning curve, but i'm happier with less radiation on my brain and way more control and freedom of my monthly phone expenses.

Info on head versus body SAR ratings:

"Cell phones have two SAR ratings. One for your head. The other is for your body. What does that tell you? Keep the cell phone away from your head and your body as much as you can. If you’re kids must have a cell phone, make sure they do the same thing. How much would you hate yourself if your kids developed brain cancer in 20 years? Keep the phones in a backpack or purse. Not in your pocket (for you men out there, some studies have suggested a link between cell phone radiation and sperm cell damage). Use devices and techniques that keep the phone away from your head as much as possible. For example, speakerphone-mode and wired or wireless hands-free devices. If you really need something on your ear, consider the Bluetooth headset route (requires a phone that has a Bluetooth radio in it or that can have one adapted to it). Bluetooth headsets use radios that are way less powerful than the cell phones regular radio which has to transmit to the nearest tower."

furthermore, random, but in case you are wondering as i was, i just stumbled on some unverified info on cordless phone SAR ratings:

Measurements of the SAR values from cordless phones are not generally available, however it is possible to scale the range of typical values reported for mobile phones operating at full power (0.2-1.4 W kg -1). Assuming physical factors (such as the antenna types and positions in relation to the head) are similar to those with mobile phones, this suggests that DECT cordless phone SAR values would be expected to be in the range 0.008-0.06 W kg -1
authoritarians have always made rules for us to abide according to the times we are living in, including the Bible, which i believe to be written by men with the best intentions, but using plenty of projecting from the idiosyncrasies and growing edges of that day and age. how i view other animals comes from getting to know other earthlings, also years of letting go of eating meat and sensitizing myself to what i am actually participating in (the suffering conceivably caused, not the mention the mechanization of suffering with factory farming--i don't believe in it, no matter what the Bible says, or other such guides say.) i've taken leaps of faith using my truth to learn a path towards God in the Now, looking towards a divinity that aligns with my own higher self and how i see the world needing to evolve. i live and learn through my ideal and let go of subscribing to what i view as a copout, or the easy way out letting some book think for me. i'm not perfect with it, but, that's part of the path, everything is a lesson, that's what we are here for, to further ourselves and this planet and all its inhabitants. we are caretakers, not consumers.
i don't know about you, but, i'm an evolved monkey, which makes me an animal. and actually we all come from the same source, we are all earthlings and we should respect the lives around us as we would want them to respect ours.
"Animals possess a soul and men must love and feel solidarity with our smaller brethren…the fruit of the creative action of the Holy Spirit and merit respect…as near to God as men are." His Holiness Pope John Paul II
"fox" "conn", isn't it ironic, don't you think (i'm holding off posting the alanis morrisette vid)
its funny how this can be viewed from all different directions. they are looking at the lives of every being on the planet as being equal, which as far as we know, with all the mysteries of life taken into consideration, we might as well look at us as all equal and be humble to the great mystery of who we earthlings are as individual lives and how we earthlings came to be. so, the suffering we cause sharks when we catch them in our nets and slice them up to eat, they are comparing that to the suffering a shark could cause us in defense, by its only means, its teeth. its ironic that people are upset about it, sharks don't have nets, guns, knives, fists, bombs, science etc..they have their mouths, that's all their bodies have to really respond to us. who knows what goes on in their heads when they are laying on the deck of a fishing boat dying, who knows what the witness or "soul" of these beings that we take for granted are experiencing or thinking. all we can do is think, what if that was me? or, what if a shark was causing me suffering? hence the effective advertising, peta is turning the tables. i disagree strongly, peta is so open minded it blows people away, we are presented, through peta, with our humanity from the perspective of these other beings that we hunt or destroy regularly without even a thought as to their wellbeing and the suffering we are causing them.
what about the SAR rating--is it the same as the other phones? apple's phones are very high in radiation. of course, you wouldn't know this, but this is the biggest priority for me with these usefully distracting devices.
and peta isn't forgetting that humans are animals, if anything they are pointing to it.
we have the benefit, now, of living in a world where fight or flight thinking (kill or be killed) is a fading prospect. this is giving us room to think about the suffering we cause and allowing us to cause less, or to certainly be conscious of it. for me i have very selfish reasons for being vegetarian, i would hate to be born a fox, and be raised to have my fur ripped off me while i'm alive. i will never ever be able to get the image out of my head from a video i saw of this once. the poor fox is standing there looking back at the person who just ripped off his fur, there was no advocate for him, just earth shattering suffering.
who's to say what is self aware? this intelligence we think we have is the same in all earthlings, we just have no other "species" to argue with us about how special we think we are. we think because other earthlings can't communicate with us that this means they are disposable or dumb. we have no idea the paradigms other earthlings are living in, the world does not exist just for us and relative to us. we don't know anything except that its all very beautiful what we have been born into. why are we here? who are we? let's walk lightly with our lack of knowledge and not just be presumptuous monsters to our fellow inhabitants.
you are right that there are earthlings who are still in fight/flight mode, but we have the capacity to see what we are doing and know the hell we are causing other creatures. and we make the choice to do this? is this really what we want out of life, to slaughter other earthlings who just happen to be born, as far as we know, as not human? we cannot go through life without causing suffering, i step on bugs all the time, so, there is a truth there, but this isn't what i'm getting at. we all cause suffering, but being mindful of it and processing it for what it is and then making decisions to shift out of that paradigm of causing suffering to other earthlings, this can only be a good thing. if you are having a hard time grasping why we would want to do this, imagine us going to another planet where the creatures there are our size but they all have evolved as underwater whale types, but inside them is a witness and intelligence relative to ours. our lack of being able to communicate with them directly, and their lack of being able to defend themselves against us land dwellers, does that mean we should be able to kill/eat them at our whim? i don't think so.
peta is much more open minded than you are giving them credit for. in fact, isn't this conversation talking about how they are too open minded, for some, when it comes to the subject of the equal rights of all earthlings?
truth: i see us causing what i would consider to be hell for other earthlings. i see us making a judgment that they are less than us and therefore it isn't a big deal for us to consume them--imagine a giant that isn't able to communicate to us who thinks less of humans and kills us off at whim. the good news is, we are waking up, slowly but surely and peta is helping in their own way.
oh please, they have a good point. opposable thumbs does not give us license to cause hell for other creatures like we think it does. what if you were born with no way of defending yourself against self absorbed creatures who feed and clothe themselves with your flesh, or worse kill you for sporting "fun"? we are the devil to these creatures. we humans are stuck in a pattern of devilish narcissism. peta is just seeing the forest for the trees and attempting to open our eyes to how we are. read "eating animals" by jonathan safran foer, see "earthlings" with joaquin phoenix to know truth.
