What happens? One of the markets (UK) runs rampant and all phones are out of stock one month before the release.

2 options: restock or don't restock.

If they restock the secret's safe but they risk dumping/producing a shitload of iphones that may not be sold after the release of the new iphone.

If they don't restock the secret's out, but at least they create 2 things: greater demand, less unsold 1st generation iphones and a hell of a lot more mediahype (marketing droolage).

If anything apple just saved its own ass not that of the customers. If they could get away with it they'd keep selling the iphone 1 up to 5 minutes before restocking all stores with the iphone 2.

And as a dutch guy, living in israel i have one comment only on the 'other' uses of the hookah: buy a g-d bong, it's like using your car to fry an egg, it works, but it looks stupid.

After that a 486 33mhz which i upgraded to a 486 dx4 100mhz. Just remembering how muh fun it was back then, to think about having a 1000 MB of harddisk memory, the 200mhz barrier. Even paid 600$ to get 12 MB of ram (i already had 4). @echo off, smartdrv, dblspace, the first cdrom and getting it to work(mscdex -d:mscd000), wordperfect, dos 6.2, conventional memory, larry, win3.11, windows 95, games that were sold on floppies with sound being an expansion pack and of course, the internet... man do those ever bring back memories.

On the list of things i'd like to be able to do with my phone, connecting a hard drive is definitly not in the top 100.
But then again, any added functionality (albeit useless) adds to the 'gadget' factor and that still remains a plus :).

As for which connector, i couldn't care less if it were microUSB, POP or even a frickin' candy necklace, as long as it's universal for power and/or data. And looking at the Nokia marketshare at the moment there is no point in arguing that the Nokia power connector is the most universal at the moment (and one of the main reasons i always went back to nokia).
