vista as a n operating system with all the gadgets turned off so you can use it to play vista only games is at best mediocre the gadgets suck ram and I have yet to find the extra gig of ram I installed so I rate it a 3 on a scale of 10
security wise I rate it a 2 already got a virus
sticking with osx sorry microsoft still not good enough

As a robotics engineer I recently turned down a job that would have had me designing robots to kill people and I am all for that the problem I had was handing the keys to the gun cabinet to a group of spoiled five year olds (bush and his cronies) I only hope the next group is at least thirteen

@ Hyruu I knowhow to use a computer and I still hate vista
convoluted and buggy known issues including driver issues and inflated system requirements = piece of crap operating system

@giislander us apple fanboys are the forward thinking ones here. Why mess with a good thing when you can add to it stability has its merits as does interoperability

Vista a whole new operating system designed to mimic osx is nothing more than a really bad copy microsoft stopped thinking and started copying and still followed the same old crappy file system slow to boot even on a mac. OSX boot times are faster the system needs less ram to run and it is backwards compatible meaning if it runs on mac osx 10.1 it runs on 10.5! updates are far better than complete rewrites
driver issues are not an issue on a mac
You can argue about it being a closed system but it works far better than vista or xp (I have an mcse certification and have been repairing computers for 7 years for businesses consumers and colleges and I recommended they all stay away from vista )

What ever happened to FOR THE PEOPLE BY THE PEOPLE
now its for the businesses by the government
NO REAL ID write your congressmen write your senator
do not get one no one get one and they will have to cancel it
not safe for me or you rfid is not secure and they want one in your pocket anyone with a few dollars can build a decent rfid reader
computers are not secure have you seen the ad on tv the pentagon is attacked 3 million times a day
I only wonder how often the database of ID's would be attacked 5-6-20 million times a day

Safety is not in an ID card nor is it in the government as it is
bring back for the people by the people
reject presidents and congressmen that promise you safety and only provide it for the rich and make all of our lives miserable in doing so
it wont matter how much you complain unless you complaint to the right people and if they dont listen dont vote for them

Ok I may be an apple evangelist (love converting people) My boss just got one for road trips. He is a little on the older side @ 72 and loves the fact that it is thin and light and does not produce much heat at all. Since he travels by plane in business class and has access to a plug he uses it for most of the flight battery is not an issue the screen is a great size and he has no trouble seeing it. He is not a power user nor was the mba meant for power users it was meant for board room road warriors and aimed at making mac more of a business computer (the lenovo we got him 4 months ago sits in a corner on the floor) we are now going all mac in our office (and I am loving every minute of it goodbye HP hello to my job getting easier

$459 per year plus
Resale value at three year mark on craigslist.org $500
cost of new mac in three years $1299 minus $500 equals $799

New dell same specs
$999 plus microsoft word $299 divide by three (if it makes it that long) plus anti virus ant spyware $207
$501 per year
Resale value at three year mark on craigslist.org $300

wow and I left out cost of a visit from a guy like me when your kid deletes
a directory and crashes your dell $220 now which is cheaper??????????????
