<![CDATA[cudthecrud commented on Slightly Strange, Awesome New Battlefield Heroes Trailer]]> It seems kind of refreshing to have a multiplayer shooter that's based on shenanigans without so much emphasis on cutting edge graphics. I thought my computers were retired from FPS's, but maybe they're not as feeble as I thought.

<![CDATA[cudthecrud commented on Gish Creator Enters The Aether]]> I'm still not sure what you guys think this game has in common with Braid or Portal besides their indie-ish roots and Braid's music, but whatever. The game was neat, although I'm not sure the game mechanics could be expanded to more puzzles easily. At least not without more interactive elements. And the puzzles were fairly one dimensional; just accomplish objective X to make planet happy, with the art and dialogue acting as sort of a veil to hide the simplicity of the puzzles. Neat concept, design, and music and I don't know what sort of complexity I'm really expecting from a free "art" flash game.

<![CDATA[cudthecrud commented on Zero Punctuation Takes On Ctrl+Alt+Del]]> I very much enjoyed Concerned.
If CAD wants to be a story, then it should have a story arc and then end. If it wants to tell jokes, it should just do that (if he feels like maximizing the potential to entertain me, personally). I feel the same way about tv series; I think they should all end after a couple of seasons instead of perpetually dragging out. Or at least have very discrete season wrap ups, like Weeds, Dexter, etc....

tangent: Whatever happened to Breaking Bad? I was just getting into their messed up story arc and then the show just disappeared.

<![CDATA[cudthecrud commented on Mystery Of Strange Things Found In Vitamin Water Solved: Harmless Mold]]> @B: they pasteurize the drinks, so there should be nothing living inside after they are sealed.

@The Marionette: water, sugar, and salt (aka electrolytes). The sugar and flavor were used to mask the salty nature of the drink. The salt is good for replacing all the salt your body loses to sweat and other excreted fluids.

<![CDATA[cudthecrud commented on Doctors Using Pig Powder to Regrow a Soldier's Finger]]> I doubt the "pixie dust" could convince the resident stem cells both to proliferate and also differentiate appropriately. Those two signaling pathways are often at odds with each other to keep your body from becoming a giant cancer. I am incredibly skeptical that any finger features would be restored as well, like fingerprint/nail/knuckle/knuckle hair. I'd love to be wrong, though. It would personally open up some very interesting questions in the field and spur stem cell research to some new, interesting places. As a scientist working in mainly adult stem cells, I think anytime the cutting edge and fringe co-mingle, there's some very fascinating studies that result.

Although an Akira like scenario would be interesting. Tetsuoooooo!!!
