<![CDATA[geedots commented on A Year of Tortured Patience: Holding Out for the Second-Gen iPhone]]> I wonder what will happen if there's no 3G iPhone announced come next week....

Hmmm.....angry mobs? therapy sessions? suicide? All over the excitement surrounding a phone that hasn't even been announced, only alluded to. Everyone is getting swallowed in the hype.

I won't lie, I've been waiting too, but it's not a huge deal to me since I'm jobless at the moment and can't afford it either way.

<![CDATA[geedots commented on These Boxes May Hold a New Apple Product (Oohhh!)]]> @dangster: right? a lot of people don't realize that summer is the best winter in parts of the Bay, especially around SF.

Back to the post, I used to skate those loading docks back in the day! Never realized they had Apple product inside. Of course, since it's Fremont, there's a good chance that those boxes are just full of meth. No joke.

<![CDATA[geedots commented on Boost Drops the Motorola i335 Off a Building, Runs it Over With a Car for Your Amusement]]> Yawn. My LG Voyager has already done most of that stuff, AND it has a keyboard on the inside. I've honestly tried to break it. Not only that, but when it's in my pocket it looks like I'm packing some serious heat. Love it.

<![CDATA[geedots commented on Mac OS 10.6 Debuting Next Week?]]> @fyngyrz:

I dunno, switching to Intel was a pretty big "we made the wrong choice" moment. I don't think Apple has a "we're always right" problem, so much as a "we define our own market rather than let our market define us" problem. For the most part, it works for them. So far, it's worked for me too, but I do think that cutting off PPC so soon would be a bad thing. Every app is universal now, so why do it?

<![CDATA[geedots commented on Mac OS 10.6 Debuting Next Week?]]> I thought that after Tiger they said they weren't doing the whole upgrade every year thing with OS X? I'm enjoying Leopard, except for iCal losing the drawer (why didn't they just make it an option?) and Safari crashing from time to time.

<![CDATA[geedots commented on Mac OS 10.6 Debuting Next Week?]]> @Joseph: @A Puckish Satire of Contemporary Mores:

Nobody seems to remember a little problem PPC had called HEAT. People wanted a 3GHz PPC PowerMac/ Mac Pro and that was just never going to happen without melting that pretty aluminum case. Not to mention that engineers were having a tough time keeping the chips cool in the Powerbook.

<![CDATA[geedots commented on Latest Round of Semi-Credible 3G iPhone Specs: 22 Percent Thinner]]> I still call BS on the $200 iPhone. It's a premium product. If they also introduce a stripped-down iPhone as well at $200, well, that sounds more likely to me.

4. Apple for iPod batteries, Macbook batteries, LCD screens, Power supply, etc.
5. RIAA
6. Microsoft for RRoD

<![CDATA[geedots commented on Italy's iPhone to Have Two Carriers: The End of Exclusivity?]]> @justinpe:

"In three years there will probably be a 4G or Wimax version, with other features that Steve hasn't even dreamt about yet."

I dunno, based on how long development takes, Steve probably dreamt about all that stuff last night.

@justinpe:

"The exclusive deal with ATT in the US is the biggest thing keeping it from becoming the most popular phone ever. I can't even begin to count the times that my friends or acquaintances have said they would buy an iPhone in a heartbeat if it were available on Sprint, Tmobile, Verizon, etc."

I don't know about you, but I'm happy that they've kept the iPhone far away from Verizon. Imagine an iPhone with that hideous red interface and crippled features. And I can tell you it's definitely is "the network" that I will miss when the iPhone goes 3G and I jump ship- the people network. It's free to call all my friends and family cause they all have Verizon too.

<![CDATA[geedots commented on Guitar Hero IV To Feature Mic, Drums, Copyright Infringement?]]> Do there really even need to be 4 Guitar Hero's?! I'd like Rock Band and GH much better if they focused on releasing certain, specific playlists as a mini-career mode on Live, i.e. St. Patty's Day playlist, 4/20 playlist, etc. Think about how ragingly awesome it would be if all their future releases were distributed online. Maybe the margins just aren't there (new hardware = $$$), but I think it could work.
