"@Gotlactose: Douche out, much? If you remove assumptions from your...vexations, you've got nothing. Why don't you go protect your lawn and keep the insane ramblings somewhere appropriate."

"@Nathan Obbards: Essential to search out trusted sites that are iPhone OS specific or have regular "best of..." app lists (like Giz!) Wired also have a good "best apps of '09" feature atm. Another good way to find decents apps is to identify a few good developers and search for them, and browse their releases. Just throwing yourself into the app store (especially from the device itself) is a good way to blow a lot of cash on a lot of crap (and score the odd find)."

"@Sibuna: You'd think being one of the largest music retailers (if not the largest) in the world qualifies as mainstream :P / nitpick And it's in everyone's (except shareholders, perhaps) interest to keep Mac levels sort of low, if only to dissuade virus and malware producers to stick to Windows. As for restricting the OS to their hardware - it's integral to maintain brand integrity and platform functionality (ironic as the latter statement is, attached to this article)."
