<![CDATA[Joseph commented on iPhone 2.1 Firmware Currently In Beta, More GPS Features On The Way]]> @CaptCaveman: All the lags, locks ups and crashes came with 3rd party apps. You can have the best of both world. You're either gonna have all corporate code thats probably gone though heavy design testing and engineering or third party code that's probably looked after by one or two people (as in my case). I use instruments but I can't guarantee I have all the holes plugged.

<![CDATA[Joseph commented on Ballmer Hints at Zune Phone in Memo to Microsoft Employees]]> @GeekyNerdGuy: GOTM!

Seriously though... what happened to the innovation over there? They are 2-3 years behind on EVERY technology front. Gaming systems, Web Search, Web Maps, Web Mail (Web period), Portable Media, Web Browsers, and now even their bread and butter Operating System is sliding. I grew up on em, but they are really disappointing.

<![CDATA[Joseph commented on Cowon P5 Portable Media Player Has 5-inch Touchscreen, Haptics, Usual Cowon Goodness]]> My boy bought a Cowon when we went to Whistler to go snowboarding. He used it as recording device to record some of the runs on Blackcomb. It was great for that as well as for a media player. I was envious :).

<![CDATA[Joseph commented on Would a Prettier Linux Make You Switch?]]> What would make me switch to Linux is that if all these guys making separate distros would drop their ego and make one super Linux OS. Stop making a spin off every time you have ONE good idea. If the Linux community worked together, maybe something good that is marketable would actually get produced.

<![CDATA[Joseph commented on Most Expensive iPhone App Champion: MyAccountsToGo Costs More Than an Unsubsidized iPhone]]> @Bender: Motorola and Palm... aren't they out of business already?

]]>
<![CDATA[Joseph commented on Most Expensive iPhone App Champion: MyAccountsToGo Costs More Than an Unsubsidized iPhone]]> @92BuickLeSabre: Yeah, I'm starting to think thats more of the case. Whats funny is that if you Google "myaccountstogo" their company doesn't even show up on the first page because of all the blog press they are getting regarding the app costing $449.

Their website really doesn't help that much though. I need a video demo.

<![CDATA[Joseph commented on Most Expensive iPhone App Champion: MyAccountsToGo Costs More Than an Unsubsidized iPhone]]> Sorry the price is $449. I keep mistyping it :).

]]>
<![CDATA[Joseph commented on Most Expensive iPhone App Champion: MyAccountsToGo Costs More Than an Unsubsidized iPhone]]> @future-proof: @ps61318: Ah okay that makes sense then. Do either of you know how much the desktop equivalent of this software is or where their website is so I can check out the features?

Im reading some of the comments in iTunes and they seem planted by people with a vested interested in the softwares success.

In the business world, software routinely costs a fortune and this is no different...

That to me is saying "You should buy this because it's expensive and all business software is expensive"

I guess I'm not sold because I don't see any marketing material. You can't put something up and charge $499 and just expect people to buy it because it's expensive. I don't' care if it hooks into NASA, convince me that I need it. Or maybe the people in the business world already understand the value of this software and don't need to be sold on it.

]]>
<![CDATA[Joseph commented on Most Expensive iPhone App Champion: MyAccountsToGo Costs More Than an Unsubsidized iPhone]]> I wish Apple still had the tally counter so you could see how many applications they sold. I remember this flight pattern app that was 70 bucks or so and everyone was saying it was a waste of money, but no one had even downloaded it yet. $499 for database an app that stores stuff in a DB and makes network calls is a bit much.

<![CDATA[Joseph commented on iPhone App Devs Still Gagged by Non-Disclosure Agreement, Mad as F'n Hell About It]]> Yeah. I started developing for the iPhone and there is very VERY VERY little help online. You only get 2 emails to tech support. Thankfully I've been able to figure everything out about my software. I've even helped some friends understand the UI and how everything works. Apple has their noose too tight on the situation.
