Looks to be releasing on October 1st if the Amazon listing turns out right. The Amazon page listed that date, not the September 15th one we were hoping for after seeing the HTC mailer sent out looked to sport a smoke-masked Desire HD (Ace).
Samsung Media Hub for Galaxy S Phones - Coming September... will feature streaming/downloadable movies and television shows pre-formatted to look STUNNING on the Samsung Galaxy S' Super AMOLED 800 x 480 display.
Google is going to announce improvements to the Android Market at its event today on August 12th. The improvements will include a bunch of things listed in this article:
"New features will include brand new payment options such as Paypal, and web-to-market push capabilities. Also, from the web, Android users will be able to push application downloads to their devices. From the browser, users can view applications, check out reviews, purchase applications, and push them to download on their devices.
In addition, we should be seeing push-to-download music functionality coming soon to the Market. With this, users will be able to find albums or songs and send them to their Android devices over-the-air. And, with full iTunes to Android capabilities, users will soon be able to stream their entire DRM-free music library straight to their phones.
We're not quite sure what Google will announce today at the event, but we would venture to say some (if not all) of these Marketplace features will be hitting the prime time very soon."

This is an interesting bit. Android developers have reached new high scores in Quadrant by fixing the Samsung Galaxy S to store application data on SD cards. With that fix, the Samsung Galaxy S variants are scoring between 1700 and 2021 on Quadrant with NO overclocks, NO Android 2.2, NO JIT Compiler from Dalvik. That says a lot about the Galaxy S phones. With this fix, the phones are faster than anything on the market... the Droid X, Nexus One... anything.
Android devs have brought this phone to the greatest benchmark scores we've ever seen on an Android device. Android has a new king in the phone world -- the Samsung Galaxy S series.
Samsung Open Source has officially sent out emails to developers wishing to download the open source code for the Samsung Captivate (i897). The code is now available for download from Samsung’s website.
Yeah, it's only been a week from launch day, but XDA-Developers' users have figured out how to remove every trace of AT&T from the Samsung Captivate minus the logo. And, they're even working on that! [briefmobile.com]
Removed so far: - Root access gained - Market restrictions & censorship - sideloading restrictions - All FIFTEEN bloatware apps - AT&T logo in Market
