they will never agree to it!! the same people who ran from winmo to iphone because of the crappy mail experience now say that it will pwn blackberry in the corporate world using the same shitty fetch email protocol that winmo uses. activesync.

for those who will opt to have all ur email delivered as it hits your server will forever have your device tethered to a power source MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA!!!!!

<![CDATA[keysereble commented on New Garmin nuvifone UI Shots Are A Thing of Beauty]]> yeah nice!!

why are iphone users so defensive all the time?
do you have to denounce one device because you appreciate another? must you always pit one against another?

Giz didnt even quote iphone in this article yes the ladies are scratching and hissing.

nobody is denying apple's brand name and loyalty, but garmin's is strong too - the fact that they seem to run ads year round confuses me! the only ad they run now is the "napoleon" and i only see it during sportscenter.

if this launches before xmas 08 it will def. be interesting.

<![CDATA[keysereble commented on 6 Takes On The Samsung Instinct (aka iPhone Hunter)]]> LOL, yes it was my first remark - though not to you, to someone else. that is what i was laughing at - the fact someone said iphone app dev is better than rim's.

oh and for activesync to give you more than wireless email and GAL you need the WMDMC - aka WM-BES.

when you get a price quite from microsoft then let me know. that cost will be in addition to the single SDK licence apple will charge.... tally it up and tell me your figures.

please note, it is not included with exch 2007, we have it. we also run bes, and just last week i submitted a report after testing the iphone with activesync, so i am not being biased - i use all 3.

its not for the coporate world.

<![CDATA[keysereble commented on 6 Takes On The Samsung Instinct (aka iPhone Hunter)]]> @JEmlay:
LOLOLOL - line for line - sorry i dont have the time to cut and paste.
my first remark was that you said that the iphone app dev was better than blackberry and i laughed at that. didnt i? and you are telling me to read again? where did PPC come in?

i am not singling out apple - activesync holds no weight on blackberry. period!

my note on sysadmins was in response to yours saying you can get a mac in a company filled with windows - sysadmins do what the heck they want and always have/test the best hardware/software. if you dont, then look for a new job or you wre lying above. but thats not a business model (scaleable, repetitive etc).

oh sorry - yes in my first post i said "business" and not enterprise - i think in that case they are synonymous and i stand by the comment.

no problem here with the htc touch - its my personal phone and a nice upgrade from an s710a - my corporate work horse is a bb curve. two separate devices used in very separate ways - kinda allows me to go unchained when i want :)

u compare an iphone's scalability to PPC and say its better? how? mass software deployment? software updates? kiosk check in/out software? infra-red for barscanning say for warehouses? inventory tracking? please tell me which one does the iphone do?

also, please show me the case study on iphone's saving businesses money in any of the industries that may use what i typed above.

scope what? apple adding windows based devices to what list? where are you getting this stuff? do you even know that windows mobile is a separate product from activesync? and is sold differently to OEMs? do you even know that you dont have to be a PPC or run WM to use activesync? never once did i criticize PPCs or did i criticize the iphone.

the device is a fab personal device - the best on the market bar none, but sorry chap, it ends there. sad to say, its a no no for corporate best - not even top 5. thats where blackberry is king and the windows mobile family comes second - depending on your device. nokia also has very robust symbian platforms that work for large european companies daily.

i suggest you read more than what Giz posts for you.

and i sneer again for making me type so much! LOL

]]>
<![CDATA[keysereble commented on 6 Takes On The Samsung Instinct (aka iPhone Hunter)]]> @JEmlay:
didn't i not say that enterprise is where all the money is? how is that misleading?

dude, you are a sys admin, so you can have a mac. just like i can walk into storage and image 5 machines and take them home with me - i am sure there are tons of other sys admins on this site - matter of fact its why we are here! so, as much as i hate to tell you, you are not making any sense.
when you get to the enterprise level, you are talking scaleability, repitition and econ of scale - thats why we have BES and windows servers with DFS.

to get into enterprise the iphone has to piggy back on someone else's software which is shit to begin with (i still love my htc touch dual :)) - which was supposed to launch a bes-like software to boost functionalities but yet i have not seen the forman announcement (with WM6.1)

anyways, i digress - there is nothing scaleable or repetitive about the iphone so there are no econs of scale - save maybe getting discounts for buying more than the avg person.

your post is misleading as you are talking from your personal views - go read the financials of nokia and ATT and see where they get the highest return/unit.

and to say that apple could capture 100% of a market but doesnt want to cause "there is no need to" is just ignorant. there is no large business that doesnt want to kill off all competition - NONE!

i sneer at you for making me type so much LOL

laughing at the idiot who dared to insinuate that apple's SDK is better than RIM's HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. this is making me laugh more than the Razrberry comment. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

can you even run the apple SDK on windows? then how the fark is the iphone going to be corporate?

corporate is windows... sorry folks, but microsoft is the international language of business. if you ostriches would take your ehad out of the sand you may notice a thing or few.

you will notice that (just like all handhelds) the current successful SDK programs are 80% business, 20% personal. go browse handango for jeebz sake.

its not like RIM will stop making devices with keyboards... the bold was just announced no?

this is just for the people who want it.

for those of you who have used a blackberry before, there is no way that OS and FF can be used with a touchscreen. i would like to think that RIM will concoct a new OS more fitting for the device and the UI.

BTW, those two keys arent bad... when you think most devices have a camera button, volume keys, and a power down button.

the pic looks clustered because every freakin feature has a caption.
