"@Odin: DP seems nice to me, but in computing it suffers from the same problem as HDMI anyway: adoption of special features. For instance, I don't think anyone has audio support on their laptops with DP or HDMI output despite both standard supporting it. In the long run though, I am happy to have mDP on my MBP instead of HDMI: I don't know which will end up dominant, but to my knowledge you can run a DP to HDMI adapter and not run the reverse."
