Ooooh, baby. Those are some GORGEOUS tubes. Speaking of which, I remember seeing, roughly a decade ago, really cool Christmas tree ornaments made out of old tubes. Does anyone else know what I'm talking about? The only reason I say this is because I find the vacuum tube to be one of the most beautiful pieces to come out of the Post-Industrial Age. Sorry if I went on for too long, but I just figured it was pertinent. Thanks.

As a matter of fact, I'm looking into a dual-format player myself, so this seems very interesting. I'm a little worried about the time it takes for the device to boot up. Could anyone clarify the reasoning behind this for me?

@smokyburnout: Ironically, according to the article on the Beeb's website, helicopter flying was one of his greatest passions in life, along with racing. My thoughts go out to the McRae family, and those other families whose progeny were present in the vehicle when it took that unexpected return to Terra Firma.

Again, RIP Mr. McRae. You were a better driver than I could ever hope to be.

Wow. Just wow. Those two men in the foreground absolutely scream "Euro-Trash." Not that I have anything against the Europeans. Maybe I'm just not "with it" enough, but his work vaguely disconcerts me. That being said, you would be hard-pressed to find a more enthusiastic appreciator of steampunk than myself. I'm the kind of person who starts to shiver and shake with excitement when examining vacuum tubes (or valves to those Limeys out there :P). It's funny, but there are often times when I wish I was hip enough to like the kind of stuff Mr. Chronic Fatigue produces.

@rg: In all due respect, I don't quite think this is the race card. While I am just as, if not very likely more tired of the old RC being played, I think the name is simply too ripe for misinterpretation for it not to be mentioned. Trekstor REALLY farked up with this one, and they need to be called on it. If an entity does something stupid, either they own up to it, or they get called on. You know that's how it works. Didn't mean to get all preachy there, but I think I was somewhat justified.
