"I have a sneeking suspicion that the source articles gizmodo references didn't get the story right...Being too lazy to do any real research, I'm guessing that the OLED 'display' refers to oled lighting--not video display (that way, you don't have to deal with the problems of lining up pixels, having the paint "know" how big a screen it needs to produce, etc.)."
