THE UPDATES ARE SO IMPORTANT!!!
It's in the story above
Yeah, upload would be a better word choice in the first case. Fixin' now!
I sent you a message, but, send me your contact information and I'll send you the invite.
This is the second time I've seen someone compare it to Twitter, which makes me think I did a really, really poor job describing it. Because, no. Not at all like Twitter. Not at all.
Hi! I banned you not for this comment (or rather, not only) but for all the other nasty ones you've made prior to now. Go peddle bile elsewhere, please. #trollpatrol
One very quick example of how it's different is that they can run many hundreds (or thousands) or words. It tends to be more narrative oriented, and the action is less about a thing to do at a specific place than it is an (almost) ambient discovery mechanism for things around you. A lot of what I've seen people doing on there are telling stories about places in their lives. Sometimes there is a tip involved with that, sometimes not.
It's, er, not at all like Twitter.
I never said I didn't back up my own data, you inferred that. And its certainly fair to blame small businesses for not acting responsibly. You can read the story again if you'd like, now that you've cooled down.
Hey Htorres

Yes, Sabren was formerly Cornerhost's business name, and it's still where hosting takes place. Cornerhost basically = Sabren.com. My servers for all my (very many) domains are all at ns1.sabren.com and ns2.sabren.com.

I was able to FTP in and get my stuff. Others on the mailing list that's been set up have not been able to. I don't know why. But clearly some people have already been locked out.

After I wrote this today, I discovered a person who seems to be a relative, who I reached out to, and that person said they would pass along my information to the person who runs the hosting. So, apparently he is not dead. But I still am wagering that he's had some sort of very big problem.

Right, it's the Sabren.com domain
I know, and in fact, that's one reason I wrote this. One of his other customers has been making a herculean effort to contact people, but I now know of at least 3 others who didn't know until today.
Yeah, the problem is with the DNS server
See @NateN's comment. The server itself is Sabren.com. Run a whois on that, and you'll see it expires on the 14th.
Yeah, thanks for pointing that out NateN
Yep. Agreed. I've been bad about doing it on my servers, because I know my host has backups. THis was a reminder.
That PMB is just a mailbox address, sadly
That's basically what I'm doing--as are a lot of other people. There's a wiki and a mailing list that a few users set up helping people to get their data off of there.
