Ambigous Blob on Apr 30, 2008
Hey, there's not much too what it is that I'm doing... I just open the SlingPlayer Mobile app on my N95 8GB and select my home network from the "Access Point" list prompt it gives me. After it's done doing it's thing I then hit the left soft key for "Options" and select "start" to get a stream going... After it's finished "starting connecting", and starts a stream, I then hit the left soft key again for "Options", and scroll until I get to the "Edit Favorites" option and hit the center button. I then go one by one into each favorite box from Favorite 1 to Favorite 16 and hit the center button when I land on the Favorite I want to edit. I then hit up on the directional button and and chose "Remote Functions" and hit the center button again. I then proceed to select the remote functions that I want assigned for each Function number... After I'm done selecting all sixteen functions starting from Favorite 1 to Favorite 16 while following that exact procedure for each one I then hit the right soft key for "Back" twice and start to watch TV. All of the Favorites boxes work fine, and can even be toggled through using the pound key, however after I close the app by hitting the right soft key to "Exit" followed by the Left soft key for "Yes" and then open it up again to use it the next time they're ALL GONE! I had the previous version that was only designed for use on a regular Nokia N95's and assumed it would be addressed when Sling released a newer software version with official support for the N95 8GB, however, the problem still persists... I actually looked on your web site in the forums section and found a few people in a thread with the same model phone and same problem months ago when I first got my N95 8Gb and downloaded the software, so I figured it was a software problem with my particular model that would be fixed with the next software update... Wasn't this a known issue? You mentioned having a N95 to test the software with, is it a North American N95, or a N95 8GB?...
-thanks,
mike

Well, I never heard from Ambigous Bob (and did he mean Ambiguous?), but, on looking into the issue, we had another user with the N95 report a problem with favorites being lost.

@skierpage: I'd be fine with that as long as the pricing was rational.

@lordargent: No, actually, Wikipedia is wrong - or at least unclear.
I will say it again - ALL CableCARDs, those physical PCMCIA-looking things, are two-way.

"To their credit, they did not ask for a correction, because we didn't print anything inaccurate"...
Actually, you wrote:
"CableCards are only one-way, so they can't make use of any SDV coming down the pipes."
That's completely inaccurate.

@SigmundTheSeaMonster: No - compressed gas is generally not very buoyant, if at all, and it'd have to produce more buoyancy than the weight of the knife itself - unlikely.
