Comments from pevans34 Comments from pevans34 pevans34 commented on Toy Rocket Inspires Design of Variable-Speed Bullets The retardedness of this is that youd have to measure the distance between you and your target before selecting your lethality. For someone with a gun on the move, this makes absolutely no sense.

For LASER weapons however, this would totally work, since distance is not a factor.

pevans34 commented on Wii is Now the Number One Console in the U.S. My girlfriend has a wii. Its fun, for social things. If you just want to play a good game... get a 360. If you want to spend alot of cash and talk about specs...get a ps3.

It truly comes down to games. No matter what features of specs a machine has, in the end the one with the best games wins.

sorry for double post

pevans34 commented on The Dark Knight Review: Even Gadgets Can't Stop The Joker's Madness Just caught this one last night. WOW. I hate comic book adaptations usually, as they tend to be halfassed and cartoony (example: spiderman sucked ass).

But this is just a great film in its own right, even if your not into the whole comics to movies thing (which by the way should have run its course by now). Gary Oldman was perfectly cast, in fact everyone in the movie was perfectly cast. Five thumbs up.

Also, I have to say even though i dont like comic adaptations, The Watchmen trailor looked interesting

pevans34 commented on US Army Selects Top Inventions That Can Take, Or Save, Your Life @oldmanstan: @xoforoct:

I half agree with both of you. People turn to religion because they have need it to sustain them through times of hardship. The middle east is pretty much locked in the dark ages as far as religion is concerned. However the first step in stabilizing an area racked by civil unrest is to give the ordinary people a sense of security that they can go buy groceries and walk home from school without fear of being shot or blown to pieces. Without a sense of security there will be no economic growth. Would you want to start a business in a place where you and your customers all had to fear constant explosions and death?

pevans34 commented on TI Builds Pico Projector Into BlackBerry Curve @Metkis: Err I would use it. As long as it works well enough.

Seriously what ISNT cool about this? Why would you choose to watch your vids on a tiny phone screen as opposed to a larger one? Who wants to browse the web on their tiny ass phone screens that dont even display the whole page? Who wants to strain their eyes looking at a tiny screen while writing emails or text messaging? If you could design a phone that would turn on its side like a game controller so you could control the actions on screen (for anything, not just games) without looking at the actual phone it would be the best thing I can imagine. I would use the sh*t out of this!

Of course you lose the whole "privacy" factor but seriously, privacy is becoming less and less of an issue with most people.

also, if tesla could drop the price of their second interation by ~40k in that short of a time span Im sure we will have electric cars rolling off in the 20k range very, very soon. The combined oil crisis and more companies seeing the advantage of electric its bound to happen. plus, this whole "green thing" couldnt hurt either.

pevans34 commented on Kilmatec's AirWater Machine Can Extract 5 Gallons of Water From the Air in 24 Hours unfortunately you cant make something out of nothing, so this isnt a solution to drought stricken areas. The fact of the matter is there is no water in these hot dry areas and pulling even more water out of the air doesnt make it like, magic free water.

technology could make it easier to bring water from water-rich places into barren places, but technology isnt the magic bullet solution.

pevans34 commented on Japan to Build Huge Solar Power Plants to Power Sharp Factories @johnnyabnormal: lots of bored people with lots of money, yeah it definetely sucks.

There is often alot of comment about how the US midwest is pretty much empty and useless and why not build enourmous solar/wind plants there to pump energy into the coasts where there are like, you know, people, and buildings, and showers.

but the reality is, no one wants to drive out to the midwest to build the damn thing.
