Yes they do roll over minutes at least here in NYC. I've got over 4500 banked so it shows you how much I use my phone (18 minutes last month). I guess if I want to talk to someone for a really long time I could FOR FREE.

<![CDATA[renditionman commented on Mac OS 10.6 Debuting Next Week?]]> I've taken up the project of actually reading "OSX The Missing Manual" page by page and it truly amazing to me (1) how much stuff I really didn't know about this operating system and (2) just how many features it actually has. This being said I can't see a reason anyone, even a power user would need even a small percentage of these. I'll take stability and security any day while sacrificing 50% of these features. What 10.6 has to offer, hopefully S&S instead of more glitz.

<![CDATA[renditionman commented on Dealzmodo: 5% Off Anything at Amazon.com]]> Amazon is not going to be my place of purchase since they started hammering us New York State residents sales taxes starting today. Looks like I'm going to frequent other tax free sites to make my purchases from now on. Too bad as I have been a customer of theirs since the beginning and buy almost everything from books to electronics from them but since those greedy bastards from NYS had the balls to send me a bill for $27.00 for additional tax after I already paid them over $5,000.00 they can kiss my ass for even the tax on a book. I know I'm being petty but fuck NYS & NYC. They can't even fix a pothole properly.

<![CDATA[renditionman commented on Question of the Day: Are Desktops Dead?]]> This post is pretty timely for me as I bought a MBP to use at a small stand up desk I have. I have a gruesome back and even sitting at my iMac for 30 minutes causes my back to start to hammer me. By standing up and working at the MBP I have no back pain at all. What I have found is that since I got the laptop I have not used the desktop at all. For my needs, email, internet and fixing up photos with Adobe Photoshop Elements the MPB is more than enough computer. I am looking around for a buyer for the iMac and will probably never go back to a desktop. Those of us that are not power users or gamers can get along fine with the laptop and I have the extra enjoyment of being able to take it down to the garden to use out there on a beautiful day like today.

<![CDATA[renditionman commented on Pump-Action Relief... From Stiff Necks]]> All jokes aside I actually use a variation of the pneumatic device and it work wonderfully on my screwed up neck. I have the over the door variety that uses a water filled ballon but that is a real pain in the ass. I get them on ebay for around $8-$15 each. They are all made in China so I buy 4 at a time because they sometimes develop leaks. For neck pain there is nothing like them.

<![CDATA[renditionman commented on A Look Inside the Last Pinball Factory in the World]]> Being a boomer I miss the Pinball and even the older slot machines that were totally mechanical. I'm very tempted to get a machine or two for this new house I'm building. My mail person (PC all the way) collects old slots he finds mostly on the dreaded ebay. Has about 11 so far and is one step from being whacked by his wife.

<![CDATA[renditionman commented on Roll Out Of Air France's In-Flight Cellphone Service Experiences Turbulence]]> At least Lufthansa can read the writing on the wall. Cell phone usage on a plane is simply the worst idea I can think of and can only lead to no good. The building I live in in NYC has smoking & non smoking floors. If they are intent on doing this let's have cell phone and non cell phone flights.

<![CDATA[renditionman commented on No More Tax Free Online Purchases For New York With New "Amazon Tax" Bill]]> @weatherman:
Hmm, I wasn't aware the the City of New York and the State of New York controls the military and my freedoms regarding the court system and legal systems in general. I actually do not mind paying federal taxes but I do mind paying nearly 3 times the amount I send to the feds to the city and State of NY. As soon as my home is finished in Stevensville Montana I'm heading out there to a town and state with no income and sales taxes. To give you an idea what the main difference is to me. I have a weekend home in Saratoga Springs that is 2000 sf on a 5 acre lot. I'm being taxed $11,000.00 per year property and school taxes. My home in Montana will be 3850 sf on over 100 acres and my taxes will be $1690 per year. I'm just tired of getting screwed. As far as the "welfare slackers" rising up to take my money, that's what a S&W 460 mag is for.

<![CDATA[renditionman commented on No More Tax Free Online Purchases For New York With New "Amazon Tax" Bill]]> SeattleTed: Exactly what I’m going to do. From now all Amazon over $100.00 are being shipped to my ranch manager in Montana, a state with no income taxes. For a few bucks he will priority parcel it to me in NYC and fuck NYS and Patterson. Every damn year I end up spending a fortune on NYS and NYC taxes and I am not going to stand up for this crap. The shame is as an upper income tax payer I get absolutely nothing for my tax dollar. Nothing. Well nothing but seeing a bunch of fourth generation welfare slackers living on the dole and knocking out babies.]]> <![CDATA[renditionman commented on Do You Have a Home Theater System? Was It Professionally Installed?]]> I see there a lot of do it your selfers here but when it came time to pull out my old system and put in a new one based around a 60" plasma and 4 32" LCDs I opted for the professional installers. I used Audio Video Salon in NYC and they did a fantastic job. When I weigh their fee against the total cost of the system it was just like buying another Denon VP-A1HDCI and saved me countless days of heartache and misery.

<![CDATA[renditionman commented on Guy Collects 5000 Cellphones, Creates Art Show]]> 5000 cellphones, even non working ones, would go a long way in the hands of a charity like Cellphones for Solders or Verizon's program that fixes up cellphones to give to battered women. Are far as whether this is art, I'll leave that for others to hash out.
Cell Phones for Soldiers
C/O ReCellular
2555 Bishop Circle West
Dexter, MI 48130
You can download a free shipping label and print out a receipt for the value you place on your gift at their web site. Just mail your cellphone there, working or not. If you are missing a charger or battery don't worry as they have lots of donated spare parts

As for Verizon just drop the phone off at your local Verizon store. There should be a box you can toss it in

<![CDATA[renditionman commented on How to Hook Up Your Surround Sound With Flat Speaker Cable]]> We took the high ground on this and put everything, phones, cable, speaker wires all behind crown molding that runs the perimeter of the room. Most people don't scope out what's over their head and if they did they wouldn't see them at all. Where they drop down to the actual electronics they go inside the wall between studs and snake out the bottom. The baseboard molding was not big enough and I didn't feel like pulling it all out. This was a viable option.

Ha!! As I got older I found that coffee drinking and hitting the head were not really going together as well as when I was young but I always knew that the Comp on 5th Avenue in NYC was a easy place to stop and take a piss. Pretty much all they were good for. Now where do I go???
Ah, thank God for the library.
