hmm, id rather the money be spent on maglevs than bombing the shit out of people in some other country.
The US used to be pioneers in many fields - trains and wireless communication (i mean cellphones) are some of them.

And now even farmers in Africa have better phones than people here in the US.

I know more than a little about this project. The company this guy is the owner of, Reliance (which has different divisions) is known to be the most ruthless, unethical and un-social (if there is a word like that). They make their shareholders glad, but thats about it.
So this house, it was to be built on the site of an existing orphanage, which these dickheads were to re-locate. Construction started and they 'forgot' about it. The construction was stuck in legal disputes, but it looks like they are in the clear now.

In any case, imho, the design of the house is also in bad taste and looks like a hotel. yuck!

i wonder why no one here has mentioned, or for that matter even RIM/Apple have thought about the Blackberry Connect software for the Iphone. Many WinMo phones and Nokia symbian phones have the software, why not just make it for the blackberry too, so they can get true push?
Oh wait, if that comes out, the whole blackberry handset market will collapse.

Come on guys, get over it. All these years, it was the US, Japan and Western Europe that were swarming the world with their stuff. I could easily make an argument that Pepsi and Coke have successfully put many fruit-juice vendors out of business in, say India or China. The same logic applies for jeans, automotives, what have you...
Why? because the people wanted to have Coke and Pepsi. They wanted to get into shiny BMWs rather than wait for the factories in their countries to develop their automotives.

The same thing is happening to the US now. If the consumer want to buy a 2$ t-shirt made in the Philippines over a 25$ American Apparel tee made in the US, well thats the way the market is going to go.

Unless there is a serious educational and financial reform in the US, this is the way its going to be.

Best buy manages to screw everyone they get associated with. We got a connection from Speakeasy, who they just bought.
Service was horrible, the technicians who came around did not know d*ck, and when we wanted to disconnect in the 'trial' period, we still ended up paying $300 for connection fees etc.
Die Best Buy, die.

i have a fujitsu s6510 (which you somehow did not include in your ratings)
its a 14.1" screen, weighhs 4lbs, 2.4 core2duo, optical drive, 4gb ram, no video card though.

all the macbook air has is style.

There are some of us who use laptops on the road AND at work, when we sometimes work on, for example large photoshop files (which top 650 mb many times). I would really not trust a wireless connection for that kind of load.

my american friends,
please dont hate cellphones so much. get with the program, the world is advancing at a much faster rate. When i was in china, even all elevators had cellphone reception, not to mention basements 10 floor below ground level.
as someone said above, many countries in asia and europe have cell phone coverage systems in trains and underground stations. If they are worried about terrorism, one can assure them that the terrorists are much smarter and can surely pass those obstacles.
