The reason he didn't realize that we all can perform puppy-kidney-removal surgery is because he doesn't understand the mind boggling powers of being able to use the internets and google the procedure. Hell, if you look hard enough, you can probably find some streaming video of it and use that as a handy walkthrough.

Seriously though, just because you put earplugs in and cover your eyes, doesn't negate the existence of that train rushing towards you called progress.
