"I'm surprised no one's mentioned the last line of Neil Gaiman's "Neverwhere": "The sky was the perfect untroubled blue of a television screen, tuned to a dead channel". Even better is when Gaiman quoted that line once in his blog, and people actually wrote in to point out he must have unconsciously plagiarized Gibson... Some of my favorites: "to wound the autumnal city."
