<![CDATA[soundengineer commented on Money Can't Buy Taste: The Tackiest $150,000 Home Theater You'll Ever See]]> I just think it's funny how he squeezed his AV equipment in that 'storefront' window. other than that, yes, while I wish I had $150 K to boot...I think I'll be happy sneaking DVDs into the classrooms and using the projectors there while the students are away...

<![CDATA[soundengineer commented on One Wash, One Cup of Water: Nearly Waterless Washing Machine Invented]]> as part of a household that produces laundry for 10 people, I don't see how one cup is going to cut a full load. How big is the load they tested this stuff with anyway? Let's see, 100 washes...one wash for whites, one for colours, and if you do laundry once a week (at least that's how often I did it when I was in a dorm, let's go with the lowest extreme here rather than the obvious more times per week you'd need to do 10 people's laundry), you get 50 weeks worth of washes with 2 washes a week...that's almost a year, I can't imagine it being very useful for large families who'd have to replace their 44lbs of plastic chips often.

As somebody who believes in the good old soap and water for washing, I find this interesting but won't believe it till I see it. (Or smell it for that matter...) And like imaria said...won't stuff like that get stuck in pockets and socks and little crevices? And how will the machine fare for delicate washes (like clothing with beads/ embroidery/ delicate fabric when you've got solid chips all over your stuff?

<![CDATA[soundengineer commented on Security Cam Footage of Cubicle Rage to the Extreme is Every Cube Dweller's Fantasy]]> their cubicles seem to be made of cardboard, or that stuff you buy for kids that slot together and look like plastic waffles...

]]>
<![CDATA[soundengineer commented on The Ultimate Cheap Camera Battlemodo]]> as a sony fan i'm glad it came out tops on this review. though i do think sony stuff can be overpriced, they are generally my favourite for point and shoots in terms of quality and ease of use. after using it for a decent amount of time it almost felt like a part of my hand (force of habit!) but that does show how easy they can be.

<![CDATA[soundengineer commented on Your New, Sealed Copy Of GTA4 Contains "Boyz N Da Hood" Disc]]> in one comic/ game store i noticed the cashier opening the game on the spot for the customer to check not only that the CD was the right game, but also for scratches and defects. sure it does hold up the queue a bit but it will avoid such situations, especially since those games do cost a pretty penny...

]]>
<![CDATA[soundengineer commented on Peeandgo, The Lady Urinal with a Splash of Gold]]> i hate squatting toilets, 1) because of wet floors (think accidents people! slippery yellow accidents), 2) dirty floors (think accidents with shoe prints) 3) it's much more comfortable lining the seat with loo paper, loo seat liner or using a sterilizing wet wipe. where I come from squatting ones aren't at all popular...not at all.

<![CDATA[soundengineer commented on Question of the Day: What Do You Need More? A Cellphone or a Computer?]]> @Juggrnott: but that means you would need internet, which isn't always easy to get and not necessarily reliable enough to make calls etc etc.

for me a cell is more important because i can't always lug my computer around. plus it's drop-proof. (: and takes pretty pictures of my darling.

And hey guys, as long as we understand that, it's fine. I find that it's much easier for those more attuned to the western tongues to get their lips around the phonics of "gong hei fat choy" rather than "gong xi fa cai". That being said, it doesn't really matter so long as the goodwill in the greeting is there. (:
