@Jigen: To everyone bitching about how certain words should be spelled, you're missing the point. The first rule of any language (written or verbal) is understanding; standardization (particularly with something as trivial as spelling) follows.
The whole point of Wikipedia, or any reference for that matter, is to provide understanding and knowledge. So long as a term is spelled in a manner which reflects the common definition that it represents then its purpose is met.
Nevertheless, since we're dealing with a ("reputable") source, it's probably necessary to use the correct spelling of a word. Problem is, there may not be a single correct spelling, i.e. aluminum/aluminium. As a compromise, how about we start off articles with the following (American English takes precedence since it is more prevalent in usage):
Color (American English, or Colour in British English)...
Now, if they can finally figure out how to create a phonetic pronunciation reference rather than using that useless IPA (, then maybe we'd be getting somewhere.
Note: I'm now going to find every article with a debate in the talkpage dealing with spelling so I can copy+paste this comment. It's going to be almost as useless as the debate itself but I have a couple months to kill...
@JEmlayUSA: Excellent point. I think even the most pro-gay-rights individuals (whether they be gay or straight) sometimes fail to realize sometimes that homosexual couple have more in common, and deal with similar bullshit at no fault of their own, as heterosexual couples. At some point, it isn't just about gays vs. straight, it's about right vs. wrong and how it affects everyone. In this case, it doesn't matter what your sexuality happens to be, it's just a fucked up law.
@dcdttu: I made the mistake of rooting 2.1 to my gf's Eris. Now nothing works: phone, contacts, maps, navigation, nothing.
I have no idea why this is the case considering everyone on xda and other sites are singing its praises but both her and I are praying for someone to figure out how to roll back to 1.5.
In the time it takes Safari to render one page on the iPhone, Opera Mini has already completed five.
If Apple rejects it from the App Store, IMO they'll wish they hadn't.

@CSX321: I'm pretty sure that there is a difference in that CAT scans are only capable of producing data along the transversal plane, whereas CT scans can format data into other planes.
Not sure though.
@miles002: The problem with that argument is that digital memory can be randomly accessed at will whereas human memory cannot. In other words, a human may indeed have more information contained in their brains but it isn't conceivable for them to recall or produce those memories at a given moment like one is able to do on a computer.
How many times have you been asked a question, the answer to which is on the tip of your tongue but you just can't 'retrieve' it (btw, this is known as jamais vu, the opposite of deja vu)?
Computers, of course don't have this problem and the likelihood that one will have to recall everything they know at least once in their lifetime is practically zero.
So while more information may theoretically be lost when someone passes, IMO more available and needed information is lost when your HDD craps out.
As with the learning curve, there also exists the forgetting curve, in this metaphor symbolized by online pornography.
Actually, now that I think about it, I'm more likely to remember some wickedly erotic video I saw on YouPorn a year ago than the video I saw of my family reunion from last June.
I think I need help...
//Anticipating comments about both videos being one in the same...now.
Remember folks, it could be worse
I was going to make a crack about trying to upload a screenshot of Windows Me only to fail because Gizmodo doesn't allow such useless shit in their comments. Instead, I decided to do a system restore to get around the issue but of course I now have a nasty virus and I've lost all of my previous restore points ;-)
Is he a bit of a douche? Yeah. Did he get a corporate credit card when he moved to Palo Alto with the name "I'm CEO...Bitch" on it, thus proving his inherent douche-baggery? Yeah.
At the the of the day, a cool billion more than makes up for that. If it were me, I'd have done the same thing, minus the credit card part. Have you seen the interest rates on those things these days?!?
@FightingChance: Lol I use to do it at my last job. If the FBI is listening in, they can be assured that I don't use it anymore nor do I have any reason to.
@RedwoodFlyer: Freezing the DIMMs right after shut down has been shown to retain the data for a period of time after voltage is removed. If you've ever sprayed a can of dust remover upside down you'll know how cold the gas gets.
