If the sales reciept is the only posting of the return policy, the policy wasn't in plain view at the time of the purchase.

Take the store to small claims court, ask for the amount of the purchase in damages, and then the remainder of the 3000/5000 dollar limit in punitive damages.

Then, explain to the judge that if the return policy had been posted in plain sight, you would have shopped elsewhere.

You can't print a policy on a store reciept, since a customer doesn't get to see the policy until AFTER the sale has been made.

thejoker2099 commented on Faux Skylights and Windows For Rooms Without a View I can see kidnappers and pedophiles all across the nation installing these things in their secret dungeon rooms.

I say we put them in prison cells and give inmates a view of a city street with a McDonalds in the picture so they'll always wish they had a big mac.....sheer torture.

thejoker2099 commented on What NBC Shows Should Be Revamped By Battlestar, Bionic Producer? Dunno if it's property of NBC/Universal, but...

How about Starman?

I don't recall it being the best show, but it could have potential.

thejoker2099 commented on Sprint Forces You To Pay $988.00 For A Phone You Never Used uhm....what kind of company monitors your personal credit report, and would fire you if you're in some type of dispute???

Man I thought it sucked where I worked....

I would think that would be some sort of invasion of privacy. "You may never make a finacial mistake, or you're fired."

...I bet they have a camera in the toilet, too.

thejoker2099 commented on Top 10 Ways to Get Cables Under Control I took the #1 route. I wired my whole house with cat6 cable, and ran it all to a central location, which is next to my electrical box in the basement, all mounted neatly on pegboard attached to the wall.

The cable and the telephone lines already run to the same location, so keeping it there was really a no-brainer.

thejoker2099 commented on Download and Listen to Free Music on the Web There's also an old program that you can find on the web. It's called MyStreamer. You run the program. specify the local music folders, listening port, and page layout. It indexes your mp3 files, and creates a web page that you can access from anywhere and stream your own media library. It's a small program, with very little system overhead, (I was running it on a P2 300mhz using win2k) but it gives you good play functions.

I think it was like 25 bucks on the web....but pirates can probably find it for free somewhere....

thejoker2099 commented on Jammie Thomas Appealing RIAA Trial Judgment, Keeping Up Her MySpace Blog Here's a theory for the defense team..Millions of copyrighted songs are made available daily for the public to copy for free...right from your local library. If she's guilty for making songs "available", then so is every library that carries music in the USA. If you don't have to prove that someone actually copied the music, then all libraries are guilty just for allowing you to check out copyrighted materials.
