I love Nikon. I'm pretty big into photography and use the D80 myself... however I think this is definitely for less "serious" SLR uses. It's got some pretty awesome specs, but just from pictures I've seen there are too notable draw backs. It doesn't appear to have "rolling" dials for easy adjustments of iso, aperture/F-Stop, shutter-speed etc. Secondly for an SLR this thing is tiny. You need something that's not going to make your hand cramp up after a few shots. (that's what she said... sorry couldn't help myself)
Like I said it's got some great specs, but for somebody wanting to take a more professional approach to their photography I'd start with something else.
