I've been using Thinkpads at work for the past 8 years. They are hands-down the best workhorse laptop you can buy. Styling might be love it or hate it, but some of us actually care more for function over form. As sexy as the MacAir is, I wouldn't drop money on one. I would on a regular MacBook Pro. The X300, I very definitely would.
For those who are so vehemently anti-Touchpad Nub... you can all lay down your pitchforks. This one has both Nub and touchpad. I can use either one equally well, though I think I slightly prefer the Nub. I've always felt touchpads were overrated.
I doubt this laptop will make much of a ripple in the consumer market... Thinkpads have never tried to market themselves to the average Joe. In my eyes, Mac Air and X300 are not true competitors.
