These Awesome Cardboard Sculptures Are Math in Motion

It's hard to tell whether Erik Åberg is a magician or a designer—maybe it's a little bit of both. Åberg is the creator of Ghostcubes, a cardboard system of folding boxes that, in his hands, demonstrate perfect, calculated precision.

We don't know terribly much about Åberg: This is his first and only video on YouTube, and his website is sparsely populated—mainly with a few design projects and a long list of juggling performances he's given at events all over the world. There are plenty of photos of him with juggling and magician legends of yore, too, which gives us a hint that the Ghostcubes are his latest approach to magic—a kind of mind-meld of math, design, and performance.

He is selling a short documentary about the cubes on his website though—if you're interested, check it out here. But, on the other hand, there's something nice about leaving it a mystery. [Erik Åberg; Colossal]
