The CG work on Rocket Raccoon in Guardians of the Galaxy is hands-down some of the best of 2014 - but now you can get up close and personal with the abrasive bounty hunter thanks to these incredible images by digital Artist Daren Horley.

Horley, who was the lead texture painter for the team working on Rocket at UK-based Framestore VFX, shared the high-res images of Rocket on Artstation, and it's amazing to be able to see the model in close detail. It goes to show the phenomenal talent of Digital artists, and the sort of amazing work that goes into delivering CG characters for films. We've come a long, long way over the years, and Rocket is definitely up there for representing just how good technology is getting.

You can read about some of Framestore's processes for building Rocket and their other work on Guardians in this piece from their website. For now though, just look at these pictures and try not to look like this:

Don't worry Rocket, our jaws are dropped too!
