  • Upgrading the SSD in a Netbook Makes a Difference

Netbooks are netbooks. Usually based on Intel's Atom chipset, and generally not that fast. What you gonna do? Well, I upgraded the SSD in my Hackintosh. Not just to bump the drive from 32 to 128GB, but for SPEED.

  • Psystar Emerges From Bankruptcy With New Product, Same Insane Resolve

In what is probably the most surprising non-celebrity-death story in weeks, recently bankrupt Psystar—surly maker of all things hackintosh—is now claiming to be ready for a comeback, with a new product in tow. This makes very little...

  • The Life of Steve Jobs - So Far

Here's an idea: How about we stop focusing on livers for a second and look at the good, bad and as he might put it, "insanely great" parts of Steve Jobs life so far?

  • OS X Runs (Poorly, We Admit) on Sony Vaio P

Well, looks like it is possible to run OS X on Sony's teeny Vaio P netbook, but it's no perfect Dell Mini 9 hackintosh. It looks like a difficult and imperfect crack, yet it still somehow runs better than Vista.

  • Mobile Chipsets: WTF Are Atom, Tegra and Snapdragon?

Low-power processors aren't just for netbooks: These computers-on-a-chip are going to be powering our smartphones and other diminutive gadgets in the forseeable future. So what's the difference between the Atoms, Snapdragons and Tegras of the world?

  • The Ugliest Apple Store I've Ever Seen: Quo

  • Dell to Discontinue Our Favorite Hackintoshable Netbook, the Mini 9

Dell's Mini 9 netbook, despite being one of the best in its class, is being phased out in favor of the Mini 10. Engadget has confirmation from Dell, so if you want to replicate John's Hackintosh, we'd recommend snapping one up quickly. [Engadget]

  • Psystar Files for Bankruptcy

Psystar—those guys who were pilfering software from the Hackintosh project to run Mac OS X in blah PC hardware—has filed for Chapter 11. Good riddance, is all I can say. Although this may be a shady legal strategy on their part.
