Song is "Drop" by Cornelius if anyone wanted to know.

Oops, people beat me to it.

This song is making me nostalgic for my Freshmen/Sophomore dorm days.

Tuned properly, SPICA can return solid performance ... or so I'm told.

This fits better at Instructables than on a project design...
Subwoofers + leds + water... and some mods to make the vibration create certain shapes on the water and that's it, right?
Well, I'd rather had something else on the subwoofer...

Also, something like this would make a far more interesting visualizer:

    Cornelius FTW!

In case it's not obvious to anyone, the water splashing noises in the Spica video are NOT from the speaker, they're part of the song.

Wonder if you could combine this with oil suspension so you could have different coloured layers or something. Add in some glitter to catch the light when it bounces and it could be really neat looking.

I don't know what the hell I'm talking about. I need sleep.

I have a similar setup but, unfortunately, the only sounds it makes are of water flowing and of me going to the bathroom.

I hope it gets some. Whale music. The idea is quite romantic. Like really good opera, you might not understand the words, but hopefully you totally "get" the feelings. #seaglider

@Curves: I love whale sounds, but the cynic in me says expect a lot of unknown sounds, and perhaps some flatulence from see critters. Perhaps a Bloop if they are lucky. #seaglider

I noticed this phenomenon (the first bounce, that is) while working in my lab last year. Man, I must have spent the next ten minutes just fooling around trying to duplicate the effect. Ten minutes of productive research, gone. #highspeedvideo

It seems that the height the water is dropped from plays a part in the way the drop interacts with the water it lands on. I didn't watch it with sound so they may have talked about it. As for "no special water" that is kind of meaningless. Water quality can be vastly different from tap to tap, or bottle to bottle, and all of those will be different from 100% pure H2O.

@daniel.r.jacobs: I wonder if there is a dropping velocity that pushes all the air out from under the drop at once, allowing the whole drop to be absorbed. I'm sure falling from a rain cloud at 3,000 feet would do it if ever. #highspeedvideo
