Why? Because no one actually walks around with two batteries fully juiced and ready to be switched out on the fly.

Also, your claim that no one walks around with a secondary battery to swap on the fly is dead wrong. You may not do so, but anyone who does work on the field very well might. Sure, it's extra heft, but if this is mission critical work that ends with a big paycheck, you're damn right people will weigh themselves down with more (necessary) equipment.

Now a Macbook Air 15" is completely pointless. By doing this, Apple will just be diluting their product line and confusing consumers only to appeal to a very small market.
In my opinion, they should focus on improving their products and making them better, like what they did with the Macbook Pro 17". Also, I would love to see that battery come to the other Macbooks.

With a pricetag that would likely come at about equal or greater than a Macbook Pro, what's the point, when it's footprint is probably going to be equal or greater? I'm sure SOMEONE will buy it....but why? The Macbook Pro is already 15", has a range of peripheral ports as well as optical audio output and input and has an optical drive.
How's about a 12" or smaller Macbook Air. I know people are not keen on this netbook craze stuff anymore, but at least it would be a fabled Mac netbook come to life.
If Apple wants something special..how's about bringing our good friend FW400 back to the Macbooks ($%@# early adopters), and bring a card reader to the Pro, both, or all.

You know, like an SD slot. First let's get Apple to put a card reader in a MacBook (of any stripe) and then we'll put an optical drive in the MacBook Air.
