I have no idea what the hell any of this means, nor do I really care (sounds interesting though, but it's not me). Even if I presumed to know anything about it I wouldn't bag the guy for doing it. I think BMWs are worthless and that everyone should get a Geo Metro because it "essentially" does the same thing, but that would just be a retarded arguement in the end and would serve no purpose other than to express my own jealousy and ignorance.

Wwhat is the technical reason that the 1/8000 shot is so dark and he is so lit up?

Not to nitpick (well, no, that's exactly what this is), but this doesn't really make sense:

"The intensity of the light allows him to reduce the shutter speed to 1/8000 seconds, in broad daylight no less, and still have plenty of light."

It makes it sound as if the broad daylight -hinders- the reduction of the shutter speed... which of course is the opposite of what happens.

Nitpicking aside, I have a hard time affording ONE flash, imagine the heartbreak when that thing falls face first into the dirt and rocks...

Great. Another reason for the Sun to try to kill me.

Well, who's laughing now, Sun?! It's freakin' December and by the time the Sun gets to its zenith, its panting like me on the stairs.

That's right kids - the Sun is all weak right now so I get to spend the next few months calling it a giant hydrogen-powered pussy.

    Suck it, Sun!

Yeah, go ahead and instantly blind the guy on the motorcycle. Excellent idea.
