Apparently, they will be soft-capping data to a slim 1GB a month max in each billing cycle. If you exceed the maximum, the powers that be will strike you down to an anorexic 50 kbps or less until the next cycle begins. Obviously, that is completely intolerable for a power user and apt to send them into a fit of rage. We will just have to wait and see if this policy is actually enforced. [T-Mobile]

<![CDATA[Sony E020 Walkman Lets You Match Your MP3 Player With Your Clothes]]> Sony's E020 Walkman, the flash-based MP3 player for kids who like to coordinate their gadgets with their outfits, will finally hit U.S. shores in mid-June. The E020 features a colored three-line LCD screen and a built-in USB jack with drag-and-drop MP3 transfer system (no SonicStage this time around, thankfully). Its selling point is its swappable faceplate, which lets you change the music machine's style to suit your mood.

The E020 can be found in 1GB and 2GB flavors, for $69 and $79 respectively, and comes bundled with premium earphones and a handful of faceplates to get you started. Additional faceplates will be sold separately for $12 each. [Crave Asia]

<![CDATA[Shiro Soccer Ball-Shaped MP3]]>

Well, it's different, that's for sure. The Shiro AS 1GB MP3 player is shaped like a soccer ball, which complements perfectly the round speakers we talked about previously.

It's actually an attractive piece of gadgetry, though it doesn't seem like the perfect shape for your pocket. It's 1.5-inches in diameter and has six buttons on its circumference for all your basic controls, which may not bode well when you're searching around in your pocket to change a song or up the volume.

Other than its interesting shape, it's got some nice features, including FM, voice/FM recording, timer/stopwatch functions. However, with only 10 hours of battery life, it may not be going for longevity. Singapore only this April.

<![CDATA[1GB nano for $150]]> Finally, Apple rolls out the 1GB iPod nano at a gorgeous $150 price point. With the same form factor and interface as the larger-capacity models, it can hold about 240 songs or about 15,000 images.

Apple is also giving us a late Christmas with the announcement that it will reduce pricing of its 512MB and 1GB iPod shuffle to $69 and $99, respectively.

Look for the 1GB nano in white and black, available immediately. And for that price, you'll still get the included earbud headphones, a USB 2.0 cable, case and a CD with iTunes for Mac and Windows computers.

<![CDATA[1GB nano? Or just wait for the Zepto...]]>
The latest pre-MacWorld rumor (along with the one about smaller iBooks) is that Apple is planning a 1GB iPod nano. The idea is to make this player a bit more affordable. The downside for Apple—and, again, this is all speculation—is that it would eat into sales of the shuffle. Wait, people are still buying the shuffle?

In other news, McSweeney's recently snagged an exclusive look at the iPod Zepto. It holds 12 million songs and is only one-tenth the size of the head of a needle. The battery lasts for a full 12 minutes.

<![CDATA[Transcend 1GB 80X miniSD card]]> transcend_80x.jpg

Now that we've got more data coming in and out of cellphones and handheld devices, it only makes sense that we'd see a high-speed 1GB mini SD card one of these days. To make this a reality, Transcend has announced a 1GB 80X Ultra Performance miniSD card that supports transfer data speeds of up to 12MB/sec and uses a single level architecture to make it 70% quicker than your everyday miniSD card. We have found one website that claims a 4GB version but Transcend's website says nothing about this, so take it with a grain of salt. However, there is a 512MB version available.
