@Dr. H. F. Danger: The Venture Brothers episodes where Dr. Venture built that pleasure machine (which Brock and the boys got trapped in) and it ran on an orphan's heart?
@s017jrs: y'know, it only started bothering me that this isn't part of the iPhone already. And it really bothers me that it doesn't even handle incoming meeting invites or vcards of any sort. That's just plain stupid. It has a calendar in it, why not integrate it with appt invites that come in through email? Instead I have to close the email, open the calendar, and manually enter the data... c'mon! I might as well just pull out a DayPlanner at that point!
Upgrading an iPhone is worse than re-installing Windows back in the late 90's. I remember I'd have to reinstall win 98 at least four times a year due me messing up the registry, getting viruses from warez sites, winnuke and other awesome things. Now the iPhone needs to be updated once every 6-12 weeks it seems. And then after that, you gotta sync your stuff, download new updates, jailbreak your phone and re install all your AppTapp programs. I almost wish I had my Motorola v60 again.
@TheJunkMonger: I'm an iPhone developer, so if I want my app to keep up with the latest, then unfortunately I do :\.
@pdditty: Yeah that's a good point. I had mine jailbroken before I got my developer license-now I just feel like it's too much, but I am looking at doing it again.
Seriously, updating the iPhone isn't hard at all, and it certainly doesn't take that long. It's completely painless, even for the technically illiterate. And the advantage of updating is big. Since the launch we've seen major improvements in call quality, 3G reception, battery life, and all sorts of features and tweaks. Compare that to the old v60, which may have been a decent dumbphone out of the box, but never got a single bit better after that. I'll take the iPhone over the v60 any day.
@Capt Castellanos: hmm, i think my wireless router is just being crap-tastic as usual.
i'm using my wired computer as my wireless router is on the other side of the house. and all other wireless things are picking it up, but not getting any sweet internet juices.
