This USB storage version does NOT allow you to destroy Tokyo while protecting it, but it does keep your files safe while you're commuting to and from work. The only caveat is that these are only 2GB, whereas any self-respecting anime fan would have gone up to 64GB sticks by now. What's all the rest of the space in this drive taken up by? Whininess. The E020 features a colored three-line LCD screen and a built-in USB jack with drag-and-drop MP3 transfer system (no SonicStage this time around, thankfully). Its selling point is its swappable faceplate, which lets you change the music machine's style to suit your mood.

<![CDATA[ Sandisk 2GB MicroSD: Double the Pleasure, Fun ]]> sandisk-2gb-micro-sd-card.jpg

Sandisk has announced their new 2GB MicroSD card - double the capacity of their former 1GB offering. While they are not the first 2GB MicroSD on the block, they are...err...the most Sandisk of current offerings. Look for them in Japan Oct. 25th. Sandisk's site acts like they might be available in the US as well (linking to local retailers).

I still don't have any devices that require MicroSD, so I've been saving money by purchasing larger formats. But I would probably sleep better at night if I started purchasing MicroSDs and using adapters - which is a lot more practical with 2GB available.

<![CDATA[ Dealzmodo: 2GB SD Card, USB Card Reader, $38 ]]> meritline_1906_110018277.gifToday we're featuring a PQI 2GB SD Card with a free 7-in-1 card reader for $38. With damn near every gadget out there using SD for expandable memory, this might be the perfect spare card to add to your collection. I haven't really heard much about PQI, but an SD card is an SD card, right? For comparison purposes, most other 2GB SD cards retail for double what this costs.

<![CDATA[ SanDisk Releases 2GB microSD Cards ]]> sandisk2gb.jpgReleased the same day as the LG Chocolate phone, SanDisk's 2GB microSD cards let you fit twice as many Cure albums compared to the old 1GB cards.

Unfortunately for most of the country, these 2GB cards are going to be sold exclusively at Verizon Wireless stores for the next 60 days. That means you're not going to be able to hop online and grab one from NewEgg or Amazon.

Available August 7th for $99.99.

<![CDATA[ Kingston Releasing 2GB miniSD and MMCMobile Cards ]]> kingston.jpgWe thought Toshiba was late to the 2GB miniSD party, but Kingston finally made the plunge and is announcing that their 2GB miniSD and 2GB MMCMobile cards are available immediately.

The cards carry an MSRP of $80, which isn't as cheap as the cards we found on Newegg from A-Data, SanDisk and Transcend, but they're not that much more.

So to refresh, there's miniSD, microSD, SD, and SDHC. Excuse us while we go cry into our pillows.

<![CDATA[ Toshiba Launching 2GB miniSD Card For Cellphones ]]> toshibaminisd.jpgToshiba is joining the 2GB party a little late, seeing as 2GB minSD cards are already out and being used in Nokia E61s, but people don't fault Apple for being late when they get things right.

Toshiba says their new 2GB miniSD cards can hold up to 35 hours of music, lots and lots of pictures even on megapixel cameraphones, and has a write speed of 5MB/s. That's pretty fast. Since lots of devices now sport miniSD, people are going to need a place to store all their Dido albums.

Available in June for $109.

<![CDATA[ 2GB U3 Smart Drive Makes You a Happy Camper ]]> 2gb_drive_right.jpgWith a 2GB U3 Smart Drive, you actually can take it with you. Once you load all of your favorite Windows XP or 2000 settings, applications, and everything else, you can just plug it into any computer and suddenly you feel like you re home sweet home. Go on about your business, and everything you change, do, or save goes right on that thumb drive, ready for you to take with you.

This U3 take-it-with-you platform is available on a variety of drives from Verbatim, Sandisk, Memorex and others, and now is available in a 2GB size. The best part is, it leaves that host PC exactly as it found it. Seems like it's a lot easier to carry around a tiny drive with U3 on it than an entire laptop.
