The 1600p behemoth is selling on the site for $2699 NZD ($2048 USD). No U.S. release info has been announced. (UPDATE: Also on the U.S. site for $2034. Thanks, DShankar )[Dell]

<![CDATA[Eizo SX3031W-H Display Joins the 30-Inch Club]]> The 30-inch ultra-high-rez (2560x1600) monitor derby heats up even more now with Eizo jumping in with its SX3031W-H display, to be released first in Japan December 19th and maybe even making its way to US shores before too long. If so, it'll have to compete against 30-inchers at that same resolution from Apple ($1,799), Dell ($1,274), HP ($1400) and that whopper we showed you from Gateway ($1,700) a couple of weeks ago.

Eizo is a bit modest with its refresh rate spec, quoting 14ms just like Apple does, compared to 11ms for Dell, and HP's boast of 8ms. Those refresh rate specs are usually bullshit and rife with weasel words, anyway, so you'll have to use your own eyeballs to see which one is better. One thing's for sure, this Eizo display's prices lag behind the diminishing trend, initially quoted at a hefty $2555 out of the gate. Ouch. [Electronista]

<![CDATA[30-Inch Display Pissing Match: HP LP3065 vs. Dell and Apple]]>
When we wrote about HP's new 30-inch monitor, you all wrote in asking how it stacks up next to Dell's Ultrasharp 3000WFP (Wide F'n Panel) and Apple's Cinema Display. On paper, here's how they match up, stat for stat...

Resolution: The same for all three, at 2,560 x 1,600 pixels.
Contrast: The HP wins with a 1000:1 ratio, vs the 700:1 found in the Dell and Apple
Brightness: It's dimmer at 300 nits, vs 400 for the Dell and Apple
Viewing Angle: 178-ish degrees for all
Response: The HP is fast, at 8ms vs 14ms for Apple and 11ms for Dell

Of course, we'll have to wait for a showdown before we can pass fair judgement on the HP. But it looks like we have a decent catfight coming up.

<![CDATA[Dell Prepares To Show Off His Big Monitor]]> It's no secret that Dell is trying to re-invent itself these days, so it's no surprise to hear rumours of a 30-inch widescreen display from the computer company—obviously being made to go head-to-head with Apple's high-end 30" Cinema Display LCD. As of now, the new monster product is being called the 3007WFP and comes with a 14ms response time, 700:1 contrast ratio, 400cd/m2 brightness, and a native res of 2560x1600. It may also come with 4 USB ports and a 9-in-1 media reader. Look for this around December 21, assuming everything goes as planned.
