"On this week's 30 Rock, we found out Jack's (or Jack's designer's) choice of computer," -- Yes, and it's a Mac. The microwave oven designer is using a PC, but Jack uses an iMac - as seen earlier in the episode and in the background of that screenshot. #30rockwindows

it's possibly one of two things (or both)
1 - 30 Rock has always been pretty up front about product placement
2 - it might be to highlight the differences between Jack and the rest of the characters - Jack = corporate, everyone else = hip, artist types... #30rockwindows

I watch a lot of HULU and Netflix online. HULU ends up having a lot more shows I'm interested in watching... Conan O'Brien, Daily Show, Colbert, Monk, Warehouse 13...

I was very happy to come across the entire series "Spaced", the brilliant Simon Peg TV show from Great Britain. Seriously, that show is amazing and the joke at the end of the 1st episode had me laughing for days.

But HULU can get stingy with shows. "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia" (also brilliant) used to have every single episode available. Now they only have 5 at any given time.

So to answer the question, I prefer HULU and I really don't mind the commercials.

I'm looking forward to the day when the content providers quit dicking around and tie the knot.

No, I get it, guys, it's still early in the relationship, you've only been dating for a year. And that's including the time when VOD was hanging out with that media whore, Boxee. You know Boxee is just a dog looking to get her in his playlist. But you guys talked it out. She swore she wasn't gonna leave you, but you weren't sure. You'd been burned in the past and didn't want to get hurt again. So, to cradle your bruised ego, she agreed to stop seeing Boxee.

Now, it's been a while since that whole debacle. Content providers? VOD proved her loyalty to you. She's brought you good press, ad revenue AND licensing revenue. Don't lead her on, though. She's not gonna wait her whole life for you to make a decision.

She *wants* to be your one-and-only, chosen method of content distribution. She's just looking for you to commit. None of this teasing her with seasons available online for a while, only to pull back when she thinks things are getting good. None of this crappy movies from 20 years ago. She wants your best.

And she's willing to give you her best, too, guys. You think that if you commit, give her everything she's looking for that she won't be willing to maybe supplement that ad revenue with a subscription fee? Sure you guys can still have your fun, some shows and some movies tossed out for free, but she knows that full access to movies and all episodes of shows takes hard work. And she is ready.

So, guys, don't make her wait.

I watched all of "The Office" episodes over the last holidays and found out that I was missing a great show.

Now I need Hulu on my Samsung BluRay player, just as I have Netflix.

On a side not, I really wish HD-DVD had won as today I am sending back to Netflix my 4th BluRay disc in 3 months which won't play but looks undamaged. I'm starting to get rather pissed as that's more failed discs than I've had in five years of playing Netflix DVDs.

@Dacker: Why is that the fault of Blu-Ray? Sad but true: these skinny little discs were not made with bulk mail in mind. I've had damaged DVD's come in through netflix, but I don't assume that Laserdiscs would have fared any better.

I put some of the blame on BluRay because HD-DVD discs were made with a manufacturing process very close the well proven DVD manufacturing processes whereas BluRay discs are made with a new, more complicated (and more expensive) process.

Torrents are NOT used solely for illegal downloading! There are many perfectly legal fan sites where bands have agreed to allow fans to download live shows freely that use torrents to do just that because it's an easier way to deal with large files than anything else. I realize a lot of activity on SOME torrents may be illegal but that is not the case with all of them.

Well, they can't possibly leave all past shows on there indefinitely can they? If they did that no one would ever need to buy a DVD again. 30 Rock has been on there for over a year, and if you can't get your stuff together to watch it in a year, why even bother complaining? And if you really want to watch it for free so bad, check an entire season of a show out from the local library. You get it for a couple of weeks and at most an entire season is going to cost you a buck.

@badhatharry: Since when are Robot Chicken, Anything besides the first season of Lost, Mad Men and Breaking bad on Hulu? Pretty sure Showtime and HBO arent going to put their shit on a free site yeah?

Either way, Hulu has consistently went down hill very quickly over the past 6 months. They blocked, Boxee which is an awesome program, they blocked PS3 which kills part of their ad revenue and Half of their shows are either gone or butchered. When I watch TV I like to watch a series all the way through, not random episodes spread across 5 seasons (looking at you family guy/american dad/it's always sunny). It's such a shame that Hulu used to be the shit like last year and then the bigwigs trashed it.

@TraMaI: I dont' know what's on Hulu. I have TiVo and Demonoid. The OP said that TV was horrible, and we were pointing out the parts of TV that were, in fact, not horrible.
