Seriously, 3,500 words about a smartphone is a bit too much, don'cha think? After spending the better part of this week actually reading the review I found out what you think of this phone. Let me sum up the 3,500 words for you: The Cingular 3125 is a solid, thin clamshell smartphone. It has a lot of nice features and unique form-factor. (See, wasn't that easy?)

This phone, previously known was the HTC Star Trek, runs Windows Mobile 5.0., has a 1.3-megapixel camera, Bluetooth, EDGE, PIM and unfortunately lacks Wi-Fi.

<![CDATA[Cingular Launches 3125, a.k.a. the HTC Star Trek]]> Cingular's finally releasing the HTC Star Trek under the super catchy name "Cingular 3125". We've seen reviews of the Star Trek before, back when it was still overseas and called by its maiden name.

Laptop Mag takes the Cingular model for a spin, and finds that it's slim like the RAZR but smart like a, uh, something that's smart (not me). The features are intact from the original Star Trek version, including Outlook syncing and Push Email, if you're synced up with an Outlook server. There's also Cingular Xpress Mail for non-business users and EDGE browsing on Cingular's network—no HSDPA here, unfortunately.

Since it doesn't have a keyboard, the 3125 is targeted towards people who don't want a bulky phone like the 8125, but still want some emailing and smartphone features. It's available now for $149 after signing a two-year indentured servitude agreement.

<![CDATA[HTC Star Trek On Cingular Around August 8th?]]> A tipster writes in that the HTC Star Trek, which was FCC Approved on Monday, will be available as the Cingular 3125 around August 8th.

He says the retail price will be $299.99, but has a $100 rebate to get to $199.99. This, most likely, after you've signed over two years of your soul to Cingular. We'll see if it's true in two weeks.

Thanks Tipster!
