<![CDATA[Sizemodo: T-Mobile Dash vs. Motorola Q vs. Palm Treo 700w]]>
sizemododash.jpgHow does the newest slim smartphone on the block stack up to the reigning Windows Mobile champs, the Motorola Q and the Palm Treo 700w? Pretty well, actually.

The T-Mobile Dash is tied for shortest with the Treo 700w, tied for widest with the Motorola Q, and just 0.06 inches thicker than the first place Moto. The Palm is the porker at almost twice the fatness as both phones, but the Dash does measure just about the same as the Motorola Q.

Thanks to Sizeasy.

<![CDATA[Treo 700w, 700wx Head-to-Head Battle]]>
After the flurry of news yesterday it is no surprise that a video of the 700wx has already popped up on the web. The clip puts the Treo 700wx from Sprint up to battle with a Treo 700w from Verizon. They both share an extremely similar form factor, but the 700wx is more responsive and has more memory. See for yourself and click play.

<![CDATA[Box Pics, Specs of Sprint's Treo 700wx Leaked, August 31 Release Date]]> The world is holding its breath waiting for more details on Sprint's version of the Palm Treo 700w, and, lo and behold, we've got some more info on the little wundergadget. Due to arrive on August 31, the most exciting tidbit of information that we have today is that the Treo will have double the amount of memory compared to its Verizon Wireless counterpart. Accordingly, the smartphone will see an "x" added to its name, thus making it the Sprint Treo 700wx by Palm. Presumably, the "x" stands for "expanded," and hopefully not "extreme."

There's even more goodies today with several pictures of the box (!) making their way to the Internets.

The Windows Mobile 5.0 Treo 700wx, again, should make its way into your local mall's Sprint kiosk on August 31.

<![CDATA[Sprint Getting Treo 700w Next Month?]]> This is totally unconfirmed, but reader Ryan writes in saying that a Sprint phone service representative told him that Sprint was getting the Treo 700w in September!

I was reading treocentral chat about some suggestions on how to get discounts on my Sprint bill. I called up to try, and somehow got talking about if Sprint was ever going to release the 700w. To my shock he said he could confirm that it was going to not only be a carried by sprint, but it would be out in Sept. as in next month!

I asked for a specific day and he said that usually it would be at the tail end of the month but because of school starting it might be in the beginning. That last part is conjecture, but he told me for sure it would be released in Sept.

No official word yet, but since they're getting the Motorola Q in Q4 2006, it's not out of the question for them to have the Treo 700w as well.

Thanks Ryan!

<![CDATA[Treo 700w Launched, Verizon Has It]]> I don't know why, but I just don't like the Treo, so I'm kind of nonplussed about this announcement. But here you have it: Verizon has the 700w. W00T.

It runs Windows Smartphone 5.0, has all kinds of EVDO oozing out of its PalmOS-traitorous heart, and Bluetooth. No Wi-Fi, but you can get an expansion card.

<![CDATA[New News on Future Palm Treos]]>

According to an analyst at Caris &Co, we have a general line-up of new Palm stuff. The main course being the Palm Treo for Windows Mobile being called the Treo 700w. Basically, we should still see it before next February on Verizon, which has an exclusive on it until at least mid-2006. Sorry Sprint, no play for you for a while.
On top of this exciting news, we also hear that the Palm OS-based Treo 650 Refresh, a product comparable to the 700w, will be released in May in EVDO, also from Verizon—though this time, Sprint will get it at the same time. No idea whether it will ship with the current Palm OS or the new Palmsource (if it's even ready to go at the time).
Lastly, we've got the legendary mid-range unit, which Palm has talked about since it launched the Treo. With a $200 price tag, this product would be a nice addition but won't be seen until 2007, if at all.
