A Russian girl in big boots and this weird jacket had one and she was trying to buy stamps at the post office—definitely a far cry from the runway models and glitterati that Nokia had in mind. Paris Hilton never buys stamps!

However, it is a sexy little phone. The major issue is the lack of keypad, which makes the SMS lover in us angry. Instead it uses a dial control to pick out numbers and letters, a decidedly tedious task.

Will this phone take off? Probably not. But it's nice to see Nokia is pushing things forward a bit.

<![CDATA[Nokia L'Amour Line Hits the Spot]]>

I know you're probably all fashioned out with the L'Amour line Nokia introduced last week Nokia For Girls (Or Very Fashionable Men) but here's some hands on advice on the new phones as well. First of all, you'll be happy to know that they have more going for them than their pretty faces. Even with all the extra crap (mirrored surfaces, fake leather, fur-lined cases) you're really getting a good, solid mobile phone that happens to look pretty. I happen to like the keyless dialing of the 7380, though you have to get used to it for sure and many others just aren't ready to accept it. But it is true that the display isn't very big, though the camera is pretty kickass at 2.0 megapixels. The 7370 is small and nice to the touch and the swivel 7270 is extremely easy to open and close. So though they may seem garish, all three of these phones pretty much hit a homer in terms of being what they should be—a damn good cellphone.

nokia7370.jpgFirst, Motorola came out with the pink RAZR. Now, Nokia has decided to best it with a line of fashion phones named aptly the L'Amour Collection. Obviously marketed towards women and teens, these phones run from the extremely slim and expensive 7380 ($600)—which first appeared yesterday—to the affordable, attractive 7360 ($300). Throw in the middle of the road 7370 swivel phone ($450) and you've got L'Amour baby. Think stenciled designs, velvet-lined pouches and all kinds of finishes, colors and materials.

The 7380 comes with a 2-megapixel camera and MP3 player, and has an etched mirrored surface with a keyless dial. The 7370 uses only a 1.3 megapixel camera, comes with stereo speakers and includes leather-inspired faceplates. Lastly, for those slummin' it, the 7360 has a VGA camera, stereo FM radio and comes in coffee brown and warm amber.

Update: This is the Nokia 7380, it's made of metal, mirror and leather, and is on sale through Neiman Marcus for $649. It's got a 2-megapixel camera with flash, FM radio, MP3 player and video streaming. Works on GSM 900/1800/1900 networks. 7380closeup.jpg

7380 Phone [Product Page]

Looks like there's a new fashion phone on the horizon. No more info on this, but it looks a little thinner than the 7280 and appears to have a camera, MP3 player, AM/FM tuner, and contains a sliver of lip gloss for the beautiful people to stay beautiful with.
