It's got AM, FM, shortwave, longwave, SSB and aircraft band frequencies. There's a scan or manual input by 10-key. And check the analog gauge and yellow-glow back lighting. Very nice. There's also an aux in for audio input.
The Catch: It's shortwave. And $300.

<![CDATA[Garmin Rolls Out Nuvi 700 Series Including Nuvi 750, 760 and 770 in US]]> Garmin made a press announcement confirming its Nuvi 700 for the European market, while quietly posting pages about the Nuvi 750, 760 and 770 to its US site with pricing. The premium devices feature 4.3" widescreen displays and will range from $642 to $1071, with FM transmitters and Nuvi travel kits. The gunmetal gray 760 and 770 add Bluetooth and traffic alerts to the equation. The 770's coup de grace is a transatlantic map set, for major roaming.

<![CDATA[Treo 750/750v Gets Windows Mobile 6 Update]]> Treo 750 users who've been waiting for that Windows Mobile 6 upgrade for a while can finally install this onto your phones. It's recommended for everyone who doesn't use BlackBerry Connect, because Wm6 doesn't support it at this time. If that's you, don't upgrade, because you can't downgrade to WM5 again. [Palm]

<![CDATA[Palm Treo 750 Runs Windows Mobile 6 Pretty Well]]> Cingular users who picked up a Palm Treo 750 will be glad to know that the phone runs Windows Mobile 6 with very little trouble. Ciccone over at Mobility Today got his hands on an engineering sample from HTC and made this video of the phone using WM6 instead of WM5.

So what's notable? Well, you can see that WM6 fully supports 3G, the Windows Live stuff works well, and everything seems faster. Check out the video to see for yourself. Then go and write a letter to AT&T/Cingular to ask them to hurry up with this WM6 update.

<![CDATA[Treo 750 Hands-On]]> If you're still curious about the Treo 750 even after the review and video, here's some shots of WM phone hands-on. The UI looks a little different from standard WM5 phones, but we chalk that up to some Palm customization.

<![CDATA[Cingular Treo 750 Launching at CES]]> Word is Cingular's going to announce the 750 at CES this Sunday. No release date or price until then, but we're mildly looking forward to the smaller form factor and UMTS support.

<![CDATA[Treo 750 Delayed 'til Early-Mid 2007]]> After the Treo 680 unceremoniously made its appearance (finally) November 24 for $199, you'd expect the Treo 750 to come soon as well. Not quite, as Palm CEO Ed Colligan pointed out yesterday.

Even though Cingular's eventually going to get the Treo 750, which has been out in Europe for a while, stability problems have pushed the release back into the 3rd quarter of fiscal year '07. This means sometime between March 1 to May 30, for those not familiar with the fiscal calendar (Palm's is off by a month).

Update: Palm's Q3 is December '06 to Feb '07, which means it's probably coming sooner than we think.

<![CDATA[Cingular Treo 750 in the Wild]]> Boy genius as a shot of the upcoming Cingular Treo 750, a Windows Mobile 5-powered smartphone from Palm. The phone looks just about the same as the European version, and is making the rounds with Cingular support teams—probably where BG got this shot.

Unfortunately, it seems like the Cingular version of the phone is quite far from release thanks to various stability problems. As much as we like Windows Mobile, we know there are stability issues, especially getting it to work with different devices. We didn't lose all the data on our miniSD card once just to not gripe about it.

<![CDATA[More Treo 750 Porn]]> These leaked shots of the Treo 750 won't be equated to porn by normal folks like you and I. But to my buddy Matt Hickey, it's a different story. He's already printed these out and taken it into his bathroom at work for an extended break.

<![CDATA[Olympus Stylus 1000, 750, 740, and 730 Cameras]]> 1000_front.jpg
Olympus just dropped a load of really nice digicams on us about 5 minutes ago. Without delay, here are the best four of the new Stylus cameras:

Stylus 1000:
This slim-ish camera is a 10Mpixel point and shoot, a weather proof design, and an ISO light sensitivity of 6400, which is great news for all of you who don't like the overblown lighting you get with flash photography. With a 3x telescoping lens, a 2.5-inch LCD, an f2.8 lens, digital image stabilization, the cam goes for about $400 when it hits in September. Jump for information and photos of the 1000's siblings.

Stylus 750:
This is the one I'd get. Slim, 7Mpixels, 5x optical zoom, with both mechanical and digital image stabilization. It also has the same weather proof design as the 1000, and the same price. You only get an ISO of 2500, which is very respectable for a slim cam, but that's nowhere near big brother's nightvision.

Stylus 740:
Like the 750, but without mechanical image stabilizing. Carry on, nothing to see here.

Stylus730_RtAngle.jpg
Stylus 730:
Pretty! This little gem of a camera probably employs the same prism-based, periscope like internal lens system as the Minolta Dimage cams. Less than an inch thick, with 7Mpixels, a 3-inch screen, 3x zoom, all for $400.

All cameras use the craptastic xD memory card format, and can shoot 640 by 480 video, with sound, at 30 frames per second.
