    3.1 Megapixel camera w/ autofocus

    Digital Compass

    Voice Control

    Faster speed

    Longer battery life (except when talking on 3G svc)

    @@prixdc: Even if it's typical for unlimited data plans, $30 a month would still represent a barrier to entry - only it would be a barrier for all other data-enabled phones, in addition to the iPhone.

    @Richard Baietti: Nope. Verizon had their chance, said no, and besides. Apple wouldn't like Verizon fucking up their pretty UI with Verizon's proprietary (and mandetory) UI overlay.


    As a LONG time VZW customer (Over 10 years) I can honestly say that while their coverage is great, their phones suck, they continue to suck, and they will find a way to nickel and dime you for every fucking option imaginable.

    @Richard Baietti: Give it a year... the $99 iPhone will pretty much draw out every last ATT customer that is ever going to buy an iPhone... And in the years since Apple signed on with ATT, Verizon surpassed them in network size (and still has no "flagship" phone - keep touting the network!).


    So yes, a jump to VZ and doubling of market share is inevitable, they just need to squeeze every last penny from ATT first.

    Probably this exists, but will be released in other developing markets. here in Mexico iphones are around $250 with a service plan and around $800 pay-as-you-go. an cheap Iphone without 3G and internet services would sell a lot (since very few people actually use the internet access thing and the few that use it complain about the high rates, actually, we complain, the ones that can afford got a butler to take their calls.
