The Xbox360 laptop was better. This one doesn't have a keyboard. I still want one but using a bluetooth keyboard seems to defeat the purpose. Cant wait to see the next PS3 laptop.
Dude, I loved our atari 400! and I remember my dad sitting for hours transcribing code to record on the tape deck, for some ski-free type game and a drawing prog. I also remember that even in its new state it usually took about 30 tries for that tape deck to actually read the tape.
That 400 was playable 6 or so years ago, but I think it's been trashed since then.
He said he wished he could keep it for himself but he had to pay the bills somehow? As an internet marketer, I know this guy could make a ton of money with his internet fame(with out having to fill his sites with ads etc). For example - Ben Heck Membership Tutorial Site where he puts up tutorial videos on a regular basis + has a private forum etc. - 1,000 member EASY and charge $30 a month. Bam $300K+ per year for him. Make it $10/month and more members might work too... A few ebooks on clickbank is another easy 6 figs etc.. I guess he is not as much as a dirty capitalist as I am, but if I were in his position I would be making an easy high 6 fig salary just off his modding legend status. Any other IMer knows this is true.
@SudeviSparrows:
And yet it doesn't take an internet marketeer (way to misspell the name of your profession twice by the way) to know that:
A) Doing this would cause people to percieve him as a sellout and would alienate a sizeable portion of his fanbase.
B) The sort of people his site attracts wouldn't pay monthly for the kind of service you're describing. $30 is a joke as well. Few people are interested in paying for private forums unless they bring something substantial.
C) It'd probably be a fair bit of extra workload to provide enough content to justify this service. This would probably detract from both his modding work (which drives his site) as well as the content he posts on the frontpage. Switching all that over to a private pay service would just serve to further alienate his current userbase.
For a supposed "internet marketeer" you really don't know your target demographic do you?
I had an Atari 800. I loved my Atari 800. I miss my Atari 800 soooo much... sniff. But one has to admit that the best computer keyboard ever was the original IBM PC clicky key keyboard. Nothing every in the history of computing has come close the the tactile perfection of the IBM PC keyboard. It was like a mini-orgasm with every click... OK, not quite but close.
Nah, Ben Heck still wins in the design contest. This looks fine, if a little plain and a little thick, but loses points for not having a slot loading drive. Kudos to the designer though - nice work!

I would call anything that Ben Heck makes worthwhile. That guy is a DIY genius.
