I like Sanyo Eneloop's solution -- they give you AA's and a reusable plastic adapter to turn them into C's or D's. Not quite as awesome as a full-sized D NiMH cell, but at least they're not bullshitting you.
This will be great for keeping my camera and GPS charged when I go backpacking...I'll certainly have to pick one of these up before I go to Peru next summer.
Stay near the Plaza De Armas in Cuzco, the nighlife is really good, and that whole area isn't nearly as dangerous as it looks.
Check at the prices at at least 6 hotels in Auguas Calientes (I presume you are going to Machu Picchu?) before you pick one (the prices are in constant flux there and the best deal for a room one day may be a total ripoff a week later).
Take at least one day trip to a small town in the country side (for some sort of religious festival if there are any while you are there).
After my flux capacitor is repaired, this device will serve me well by charging my iPhone when I arrive in the 1700s. Now, if only someone could invent a portable AT&T network…
P.S. If you are interested in time travel, meet me last Thursday.
Energizer makes the absolute worst NIMH battery chargers. I can't imagine their solar variety is any better.
I was constantly throwing away rechargeable batteries that two different energizer chargers said were "bad". I finaly bought a decent charger that even resurected batteries that had not been charged for over 2 years.
@butaneko: Would also like to know what charger you are using now.
I have had:
This one charged really quick, but the batteries seemed to go bad after fewer charge cycles when I used the batts in this one regularly.
I had another quick charger as well that was marketed as a travel charger (when in fact it had a huge power brick, I can't find a pic of that one but it had one batt on each edge of a square.
I am currently using a large 8 battery desktop slow charger that seems to work pretty well, it takes forever (~8hrs) to charge fully drained batts but I haven't had any more batts go bad since I started using this charger.
But my entire fleet of Energizer Li-on regargables are getting pretty old and need to be replaced soon, I am thinking I will probably go with Eneloop, and input on that?
@highfloydelity: "Item Most time will arrive In 7-14 Days,(not include Saturday and Sunday). But sometimes It will takes a little bit Longer .pls waiting for its coming with great patience."
This is so stupid. Why would you use the power of the sun to assist in recharging batteries? Just plug it into ANY wall outlet that might be in or around (or someone elses) home.
I bet residents of Alaska are buying these RIGHT up.
@Stacky Botrus: When I'm treading the desert sands of Dubai looking to charge my camera, I'll be sure to plug it into the existing wall outlet of the third dune on the right. Or when I'm out camping and need to juice my phone I might be able to transfer the energy into my cell by drinking my own urine.
@feckineejit: Thanks for censoring yourself, you need live up to the reputation of your avatar, I would be crushed if the guy with the weighted companion cube avatar was a dick.

I'm assuming iPod cables (or most other cables, for that matter) aren't included. Bring your Own?

Why on earth would they include every USB cable you might ever need if you owned every device that could be recharged off this thing?
