@GadgetPlayPissedSomebodyOff: That's a pretty silly thing to say. There are crazies on all sides. If I had to choose a range of the political spectrum most likely to produce nutjobs, though, I'd have to go with the right wing. Just look at the previous asassination attempts-- overwhelmingly they were attempts from right-wing individuals on progressive presidents.

In the video there appears to be no flinch or sting. That is hard to believe, as even the Kevlar vests result in broken bones, welts, and pain. A soft, plyable leather shouldn't stop a bullet like a wall. Something isn't right about the video. What's that attached to the jacket?

For all of the people who are saying what about the head. Don't be silly, this isn't a video game. Head-shots on a moving target are exceedingly difficult at a distance, even if the target is merely walking. That's why snipers normally aim for the center of the body. And if Obama has such a well trained sniper gunning for him, then there really isn't much you can do.

@chargernj: We've had four presidents assassinated while in office, two of them were shot in the head. One of the head-shots was from a reasonable distance while the prez was moving. One does not have to be that "well-trained" to hit something the size of a basketball from a 100+ yards. I've done this with a 30-30 (often mocked for its poor range) and I only shoot a couple times a year when deer season rolls around. With a proper hunting rifle (not even considering a specialized range weapon) and a mid-level scope, I think 80% of the population could make a "Lee Harvey Oswald" type shot on their first try. I'm often amazed at the reverence or mysticism surrounding guns these days. They really are a ridiculously simple mechanical tool.

@The original Mr. Who v.2.0.1: Adamantium grafting is only possible if you also happen to have the unique ability to instantly heal yourself. Besides, if you don't, all adamantium will do for you is make a skeleton that will survive the ages after you've been killed by a gunshot.

I dont think this is anything new....my dad has a leisure suit back in the 70s that was made of some pretty nasty double knit polystester. I am pretty sure no bullet could have penetrated that stretch pants stance he had going on.
