    I think you just told my life story. Only you can't get people to make the office warmer when you live in AZ. They don't understand that some people can be cold in the desert, even indoors when they keep the temp around 70*. If you're used to 100-122*, 70* is the freaking arctic. What's wrong with 80*.

    @azsumrg1rl: Let me tell you about 80. The AC was broken in our office today, and after it was "fixed" the facilities people said that it was "back to normal" to 80.
    When you work in a cramped office full of cubicles and people each with a least 2 computers running, 80 DOES NOT CUT IT.

    You know that if it is to cold you can turn the A/C down right? And if it is the vent blowing right on her you can get diffusers that will direct the air elsewhere.

    @Xeno: Sorry but WRONG. I work in an office building where all control of the heating and A/C is controlled by "facilities management". I happen to have an office with walls while the bulk of the building is cubes. You would think that this would be nice but the vents in my room are controlled by a thermostat outside. So, In winter I bake and in summer I freeze. I finally took in cardboard and duct tape and partially covered up the vent.

    @Barry99705: Some girls in my office do that too. They're scattered randomly throughout the place. Every once in a while I'll walk by one of them and it feels like there's suddenly an old man breathing on my ankles. ... oh, how I miss being an alter boy.

    @fuchikoma: It isn't AC abuse, it is AC systems set to having male employees in long pants, long sleeve shirts, ties and possibly a suit jacket. We can't get around having to always wear that, female employees have more leeway with what is considered business appropriate.

    Haha... well, I walk around a lot as it is since I'm one of the IT guys, but it is pretty bad how a lot of people will do almost no moving in an average day.

    @Bs Baldwin:
    I'm a guy, and at work I wear long pants, a t-shirt, and a long sleeve work shirt. Sometimes a sweater or fall jacket to counter the AC.

    @swissdude:
    In Japan there was a campaign called "Cool Biz" to save power used by air conditioners - office buildings set their AC for 28C, and workers were encouraged to come in wearing short sleeve work shirts and no jackets. I've seen plenty who do that with a necktie though.
