This is a load of crap. As a former long-time"cast member" at WDW I was intimately involved in park audio systems. The idea that one guy single-handedly came up with a property-wide BGM system is ridiculous. A lot of highly skilled imagineers at WDI have worked many years to perfect systems that are in place at the parks. And, let me tell you, it has been a lot of trial and error over many years. It appears that the author of this story has been taken for a ride by some old man sitting next to him on a plane who has some delusional fantasy of what he did or did not do for Disney. There are a lot of crazies out there who think they're a lot more important than they are.
As a frequent guest of Disney Parks when I get the chance, it's very nice to read on how this neat effect was accomplished. Thanks, Giz. #ambientsoundatdisney

WDW opened on October 1, 1971. I can only assume they meant Disneyland. ::crawls back into dork cave::

I had a much better time before they enacted that one rule... #ambientsoundatdisney
